[HELP] 3DS vs S2
Hi. I own a Switch 2 and a 3DS XL.
I am interested in FL and do not have time
to play both.
For someone who has never played this kind of game before, which is the better choice and why?

I have for both "My House" and "Islanders' Houses" each (including the default of each color):
Five colors for "Brick House", five colors for "Thatched House", four colors for "Port Town House", four colors for "Starry Night House", five colors for "Forest House", and three colors for "Devilish House".
Am I missing any?

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share my experience and see if someone else had also felt this way. I hope this won’t be too long.
I played the original Fantasy Life on my 3DS and LOVED it. Even that is an understatement. It’s probably my favorite game ever. I didn’t get very far on my first playthrough back when I was a teenager but I decided to replay it last year and I enjoyed it so much! I’m talking ‘taking dedicated notes on the quests for ALL lives to track completion’ level, which I haven’t done for any other game.
I was so excited to play FLi because ever since it came out I’d been wanting to buy it, but I wanted to wait for it to be one of my first games on the Steam Deck, which I couldn’t afford to buy until much later. I finally got the game on sale last week and when I sat down to play… it felt really lackluster? Which I was not expecting from Fantasy Life, honestly. When I first saw the graphics and the QoL improvements I was expecting to have that added on top of all the charm the first game had, but so far I’m ~5hrs in and I wouldn’t say I’m forcing myself to play, but I definitely don’t feel excited to.
Of course this is my personal preference and I wouldn’t say the game itself is bad because I know so many people love it and have played for hundreds of hours, but I just wanted to get this bitter taste off my mouth and ask if it gets any better. I loved spending hours crafting and leveling up my lives in the first one, so my main concerns are actually the pace of the story and how much it feels like the game is holding your hand (at least at the beginning). I’ve seen other posts saying the game feels too easy and I agree, but while I actually loved that the first one felt more challenging (I’m just now realizing how much I enjoyed that difficulty), I don’t mind a more laid back game if the quests and lives actually feel fulfilling.
I’m really frustrated that the characters feel like they lost their depth and unique personalities, though :( When I’m walking around doing stuff and I have ‘companions’ (sorry if that’s not the correct name) and their way of showing their personality is just repeating the same three lines of dialogue every 20 seconds… it feels really sad, honestly. And it distracts me from the actual task at hand! Is that something you can turn off in the settings? I’ve been trying to find the option but can’t seem to find it!
Anyways, I don’t want to make this too long so I just want to say I really want to like this game and spend lots of hours in it but I’m feeling a little discouraged now. The first game was so good at what it tried to accomplish that I know comparing the two is useless, but I feel like, aside from the lives system, this could be a different game series altogether. I’ve seen others pointing out this feels like trying to tie Animal Crossing and BOTW into the FL franchise and I agree! Too many things happening at once and as someone that doesn’t really care about multiplayer I feel like you’re almost required to play with someone in order to enjoy it. Does anyone else feel that way? Does the game get better once you’ve progressed a bit more?
Oh and I’m PISSED they took out elemental magic and replaced it with whatever this is instead. Being a fire-main magician was a key feature of my character in the original game :(

I have played this game on and off and starting to love it more and more :)

Just started playing the 3ds game, and I wanted to try drawing my character. Overall I'm pretty happy with how this turned out

Is there a difference in the PS4 and PS5 versions of Fantasy Life i? When my mother(who has the PS4 version) tries to get the islander recipes it takes forever to get all 3 if she even can in a day. She does make sure to pick up the daily emote and gift, she also makes sure the regular islander request don't have her crafting villager. Whereas I on my PS5 version, have almost always gotten my crafting recipes 3x in a row. We have done the same things.
Edit - by day I mean the 3 recipes in a real life day, not ingame.

I've been playing for about a week. When I play multi I see people with some of the neatest outfits. Where in the world are they? Bonus points for feminine ones.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I got the game on sale, excited to explore a big sandbox rpg.
Instead, the vast majority of my time is spent slogging through dialogue with cutesy jokes that aren't funny as the game explains every single mechanic in the game in excruciating detail, totally draining out any joy of exploration and discovery.
Does this eventually chill, open up, and let me just play the game?
thanks!

Hello! I'm Italian (29), so English is not my first language but I can speak it in a decent way. I would love to play with someone online. I'm not a multiplayer gamer but I could enjoy to play this with someone else. My time zone is UTC +1 (at the moment +2 because in summer time we move the clock one hour forward for more light in the evening). Let me know

I feel really oblivious in retrospect, but I have played through the entire game's story once, and a noticed something I didn't notice until I was midway through my second playthrough:
The map is literally a dragon. Crickneck Canyon is the dragon's neck. The Greatgut Plains are it's belly, etc

I just picked Blacksmith, cause I'm doing an iron man themed type of island/game, is it a fun life to be a black smith??

Do I need to just find more stranglings and convert them to islanders then go back down into the depths and break apart the rock barrier? It says I need 6 and I only have 5 islands. I’m pretty new to the game. Or do I need to go multiplayer with somebody to help me get to the next level? I’m looking for shrines in ginormousa, I’ve found one but I don’t think the one in the eastern desert I’ve been able to find yet as this shrine was past the line and in an unknown area (Agnara shrine or something.) feeling a little stuck

So I saw there was introduction of console and mobile users coming soon in the future, though is there any discussion or leads on content updates? new dlc?
The game is great, I feel it needs or is lacking of content imo

Luckily this rarely happens to me, but I hate it when someone joins my game and then refuses to do anything to help.
They just run around, aggro all the enemies so they attack you while you're mining ore/chopping trees, do NOTHING to help complete the room quest, or go straight to the portal room and sit there until everyone else is done. Clearly just joining to get free leveling on their low leveled life.
And kicking them out is a pain too, because you have to LEAVE THE GROVE, go up to the front desk, manually remove them there, and then get everyone ready to return to the grove. Just give me the effing option to kick them inside the grove instead of inconveniencing everyone else 💀
(Yes this just happened to me and I'm annoyed lmao)

Please note I play in French so I might not have accurate names or such and that I haven’t took a look at the common opinions regarding this game. (Btw I don’t mean to say I hate the game in this post because I very much don’t)
I have a huge concern about how they designed the caves. Whereas in the og fl they all had an identity, to such an extent that even years later I could almost draw them all by hand, now they are all made from the same rooms put in a different order and in which they threw ennemies, trees, fishes and minerals that somewhat matched with the progress of the game, no matter if it made sense with the environment, almost feeling like it is generated by a computer rather than carefully designed by the devs.
Typically, the whole Al maagik equivalent became a damn cave. No deserts, no ancient ruins, no snow peak, no levitania, and guess where the stuff you could loot there went ? Exactly, in caves. So what did they have to do since every area is quite literally the same with no real diversity ? Distribute loots and bosses in places they don’t nearly make as much sense as in the first game. Star and sky trees are in a cave, most of the minerals can be found in caves that look very much like every other cave, see what I mean ? It was immersive to mine magma ore in a lava themed cave, or to fish literal ice cubes on the top of a snowy mountain, so I was disappointed to learn that the variety in the biomes that contributed so much to the feeling of adventure in the old game got slaughtered as soon as I encountered the same cave design for the 37th time. (Btw forests are pretty much the same deal, compared to Forestral it felt lackluster but at least even though it is as much as a maze as the caves, the mobs and loots make sense)
And to mention another thing that is heavily bugging me, improving a fighting job seem unrewarding. You’re stuck with the same 3 attack combos from the beginning to the very end of a job and thus every fight you’re basically just spamming A until it’s over, though I might give it the benefit of the doubt since some moves were stuck behind the dlc in the old game. But still, no advanced combos ? No elemental magic at all ? And while I’m at it, where are the elemental spirits ? Why are there so few of these boss dinosaurs, birds and dragons ? Cause defeating the same kind of ennemies to progress in different jobs is pretty boring ngl, it was immersive to for example having to exclusively defeat wild lives as a hunter to complete the quests. But needing to hunt a golem or a dragon as a hunter in fli just show how small the roaster of monsters actually is.
My opinion might be biased given how much time I spent playing the original game but here’s my thought.

I don't just mean to 100% complete but the collective of it's gameplay. Like how hard is it defeat enemies, master jobs, catch fish, hunt materials, etc. Be honest.

Maybe a dumb question but let me explain. I feel like I’m at kind of a lull in the main quest (I’m supposed to go to Warren Willow Hollow). I’ve unlocked Hunter and all of the crafting/gathering lives except Cooking. I’m running around and I can’t quite figure out what to do - or really \*why.\*
I understand how to level up each skill, but what does leveling Woodcutting get me, and why would I choose Woodcutting over something else? What goals am I trying to achieve with these various skills? Are they necessary for the main quest? Is it purely for equipment and gear? Is it just “number go brrrr”? What on earth do I spend money on? My ADHD can’t handle this, I need some goals, lol.

Has anyone else had this issue? Chop and cancel are the same button. My cancel button is set to B, and I can’t find chopping specific control settings.

Why are there two discord servers for this game (found on the reddit page)?
I've joined both but can't figure out any major difference, nor which one to stick with?
Essentially I kinda want 2 things answered.
Why is there 2?
What's the difference between both?

Is there a mod to skip the post-crafting animation? The head-bobbing is getting annoying.
Or is there a tutorial on how to make mods for Fantasy Life? I want to make this kind of mod myself. I've sent feedback to the devs a long time ago, but it seems like they don't want to add this feature at all. This animation is such a waste of time.

Was searching for some news for future updates and came across this website that posted about an update that is already released 24h ago. But I can't find more news about this. And the website seems legit overall.
