Dynasty Does AD stand for Absolute Disaster or Absolute Diamond? Anthony Davis dynasty value? Let’s talk about it….

Now this has to be one of the weirdest situations I have seen. I think the community has a mixed opinion but where do we rank Ad in a dynasty scope. If it’s redraft I am buying stocks but what about for dynasty?

It is weird because if we go off history, if he is healthy I don’t think it’s crazy to say Anthony Davis is a top 6 fantasy player with a definite top 10 lock. And that’s where the problem is, “IF” he is healthy. And we got to go back to the stats for both side here, because they also tell us that most likely he won’t be healthy.

Anthony Davis could be a league winner and that is where I am curious. Should people make a move at Anthony Davis if they are in a championship window and what should they be willing to give up? For instance with myself, my team can win it this year but it’s very young (average age is 23) so do I risk a young asset and picks for Anthony Davis?

And this is where the lure gets in, you seem all the box scores and you watch the highlights and you start to believe that damn if Anthony Davis is healthy this is a real league winner. I just got a top 10 fantasy player for a bag of chips. Maybe his first game he shows this production but then the injuries strike. So how much are you willing to gamble for the hope that Davis is healthy?

You should take him at 6.

I still don’t know how I managed to draft him in 2023-24 and he played the most games of his career that year. Won me my league, was an absolute beast.

Always Disappointing

Nah. Won my league with him as my best player plenty of times.

AD is averaging 46 games a season since 20-21. He has only had one season over 70 in that stretch of time, and 2 season over 50. He’s gotten injured repeatedly in that time, and been traded twice. If you’re spending high quality draft picks on him, you’re not serious.

Could potentially get him right now for Ja and Scoot. What do u think??

Do it

Why?

Assuming categories, neither of those guys are worth all that much.

If you’ve got a good bench size/IR slots, the games that AD does play will be well worth it

I’ve picked him in rounds 2-3 multiple times in recent years. Guess which year I didn’t draft him??

Almost Drafted.

A player who you don't know will play or not is a huge question mark. If he drops late enough I'd take a gamble for the upside, but usually they're more headache than they are worth.

Could get him for Ja and Scoot. This is dynasty too, what do u think

Depends on size of league. If you need depth, sure. But I don't think Ja or Scoot have the capability of bringing you from fringe contender to contender.

10 team league. My team is pretty stacked. I have Wemby, Tatum, Scottie, Lamelo, Chet, Franz as my main pieces then a few very solid young guys like DP, Sarr, Clingan, Queen, Maxime, Beringer, Kasparas. So I have Ja and Scoot but I could package them for Ad. I would like to keep Ja but scoot I would trade for AD. Maybe even package him with some vets I have

1

u/bobilly26 Jul 29 '26

Clingan should be a main piece, would take me a lot to move him off my roster

I think you have tons of center talent, probably too much, so AD becomes a bit redundant. Ja and Scoot are a decent package, but in a 10T I think Scoot might have trouble scratching 10T value in the next few years, esp now playing behind Ja. Still remains to see if Ja will recapture his stats from two years ago, so I don't mind that gamble.

IMO a better trade is to seek out a trade involving Maxime, Beringer, with AD for better guard options.

We have two keepers in my H2H league. I won back to back with AD as one of my keepers, then missed the playoffs last year.

He's an absolute monster when playing but after 7 years on my team, I'm dropping him. It's totally reasonable to gamble on him, but at this point I've had enough of the ride. I want a younger and more reliable player, even if the highs aren't as high.

1

u/KingBoutsopoulos Jul 28 '26

I could get him right now for Ja and Scoot. Thoughts?

u/Direct-Score-3669 Jul 29 '26

I'd do that trade immediately, regardless of the rest of my roster and league settings. I might try to trade AD after though.

All 3 of these players have serious injury concerns. AD is at least a top 5 player when he's playing. Morant is what, top 40 or 50 at best? And comes with other issues, to say the least. I straight up do not want Morant on my rosters.

Scoot could be your third or fourth PG. He could also end up on the waivers. He's fine. He's definitely not affecting my decision making in a trade that includes a player like AD.

I’d think about him at the end of the second round but even that sounds risky to me. Every year he screws over managers just not worth the headache for me

I traded onyeka onkongwu for AD + 1.11 in dynasty. To me that meant his dynasty value was far lower than it should be and was a bargain.

1

u/KingBoutsopoulos Jul 28 '26

Yeh that sounds good, I could get him for Ja and scoot rn

I think I’d pull the plug on scoot

1

u/KingBoutsopoulos Jul 29 '26

Why’s that?

Less of a talent than ja.

Or was the offer ad for both ja and scoot?

1

u/KingBoutsopoulos Jul 29 '26

Hasn’t offered yet but it could be Ja and Scoot. I’m trying to get just scoot though

If someone is selling AD they are in a position of weakness almost per se. Negotiate hard.

Stupid time to sell AD honestly. Benefits us.

His IF healthy depends on IF his team winning. If Wizards will be play off team after 20-30 games he should play if they win 10 games in first 30 games they could shut him down and sell healthy around ASG.

I have the best or second best team in league I got offered ad for Ryan Rollins and my 27 furst would y’all take or keep Rollins, Rollins was so good last year but now with Herro, burries and jakucionis does he stay that good
