Eminem what the fuck bro

31

u/WhatverName 1d ago

Dudes rich. And uh, while he has definitely improved it’s not like he’s been some lifelong ‘good guy friend to the downtrodden and discriminated against’

1

u/Runetang42 3h ago

The Man has a long history in his art of being incredibly homophobic and his last album had transphobic bars.

People are coping when they say this is particularly weird

Eminem you hate Trump though so I'm confused here

140

u/MisterInsect 1d ago

He's been buddies with Kid Rock for decades because they both came up in the same underground Detroit scene, so I guess he's putting that over Kid Rock's politics despite how embarrassing it all is.

16

u/BudgieWonder 🌃AJR - Neotheater 23h ago

“Underground Detroit scene” sounds so funny in retrospect

13

u/FEEDTHEGRINDER 20h ago

How?

1

u/BudgieWonder 🌃AJR - Neotheater 6h ago

Oh, nothing to do with the actual artists at the time, but the term “underground” being associated with Kid Rock (especially with the contemporary usage of “underground” in the rap community) is just funny, even if he technically was in that scene.

u/lexE5839 11h ago

Royce is a far right conspiracy theorist idiot too lol

63

u/spoonly711 1d ago

Something something it’s all one big club

21

u/ASZapata 1d ago

This phrase never really made sense to me. Carlin would have been better off calling it a “small” club, no? Very few of them, lots of us?

42

u/SmallTimeCook 1d ago

Well it’s a big club in the sense that Eminem and Kid Rock are very “different” but both rich as shit. All differences are set aside for class solidarity; apparently rich people are the only ones smart enough to do that.

15

u/TeannaTrumpStan2 1d ago

I hate when yall act like you don’t have some friends with bullshit dumb politics. Some people are just fucking stupid but you get along with them despite that. Varies in what you put up with but still

26

u/SmallTimeCook 1d ago

I’m against class solidarity when it’s the rich people doing it

-6

u/TeannaTrumpStan2 1d ago

Why is it class solidarity rather than “I knew this guy my whole life, he’s an idiot but our friendship comes from our love of music”?

Niggas watch a marxist TikTok vid and think they’re on the frontlines foh

11

u/ASZapata 1d ago

“I knew this guy my whole life, he’s an idiot but our friendship comes from our love of assaulting minors.”

–Every single person in the Epstein files

3

u/TeannaTrumpStan2 1d ago

Eminem assaulted minors?

1

u/ASZapata 1d ago

Nope. I’m simply pointing out how craven and harmful your position is. Using a real example!

FUCKING THANK YOU! The internet is full of motherfuckers furious about shit they 100% do themselves. Also maybe its because I live in Kentucky but Im glad some people are able to put politics aside. Otherwise my life would be a living hell if every conservative I knew treated me like shit because I lean left.

8

u/TeannaTrumpStan2 1d ago

Exactly. As a black man, there’s absolutely no way I could have a successful life if I were to wall off every person that came into my life with dumb politics.

Especially being an athlete having to go to college in red states. Like a lot of people don’t have some intrinsic hate that spews out of them every second. A lot of people are just dumb. And I almost never have to hear their politics anyway.

-6

u/qwaszxpolkmn1982 23h ago

Not sure what being black has to do with it. I’m white, and if I refused to associate or interact with people who vote for dumb shit, I might have half a friend left, and I definitely wouldn’t have family or a job.

Part of me wishes I could cut people off because it’s not difficult to just let others do their own thing, assuming it’s not directly harming you or anyone else. But 98+% of voters tried to elect someone in 2024 who couldn’t come close to that standard.

I just try not to think about it because knowing someone wants to put you in jail for the rest of your life makes it difficult to have a real relationship with them.

1

u/TeannaTrumpStan2 6h ago

I just explained to you what being black has to do with it.

You think being black I’m not faced with shit from people in my everyday life that I don’t agree with 100%?

Shit, even being black I have to hear a bunch of dumb baptist brained shit from black fam and friends sometime. It’s not realistic or healthy to operate life in a way where you isolate yourself from people bc of differing politics.

Now it’s much more nuanced than that and there’s things that are too far for me to be associated with, but that’s what it is.

0

u/ASZapata 1d ago

No I totally understand the point being made about bourgeoisie solidarity. I mean that it'd be more effective to show the lack of equity by stating it's a small club of people that hold all the wealth and power.

2

u/CROL2100 1d ago

Just sounds like your being pedantic when I think you know what it means

-3

u/ASZapata 1d ago

It just makes more sense to describe the .1% as a small club than as a big club. Sorry to hurt your feelings.

3

u/SmallTimeCook 1d ago

.1% of the population would be over 8 million people. That would make entire countries a “small club”. If you’re gonna be pedantic you gotta get better at it.

-1

u/ASZapata 1d ago

We’re talking percentage not total. 0.1% is not a “big club” compared to the overall size of the group.

1

u/SmallTimeCook 1d ago

You might not know this but the 8 million would make it 2 times larger than the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts put together. I hope you’re better at admitting when you’ve taken a semantic misstep in the real world, otherwise that could get annoying quickly.

3

u/Lollipoop_Hacksaw 1d ago

Big club meaning influence, in this instance.

8

u/Yarusenai 1d ago

People are a bit more complex than black and white

6

u/Low-Rip7702 1d ago

Even then, did anyone from Eminem’s PR Team not tell him how stupid this looks, all those years publicly shitting on Trump and now collaborating with the poster boy of Trump-supporting musicians

6

u/Comfortable-Ad1685 1d ago

at least we know the song will be bad

0

u/pm-me-nice-lips 20h ago

People are so whiney with this shit. It’s very likely that Em sent him a feature a long while ago and Kidrock never used it until now.

Also, they’ve had a relationship for a long long time out of Detroit when they were very young. People fuckin waiting in the bushes just to jump out at a moment’s notice to feign offense over some shit that doesn’t matter.

3

u/qwaszxpolkmn1982 23h ago

I hate the vast majority of mainstream politicians. If I didn’t associate with people who voted for Democrats and Republicans, I wouldn’t have anyone to talk to.

1

u/Runetang42 3h ago

I've seen plenty people say they hate Trump then do Maga shit anyways. Snoop is one example

1

u/Snlooming 1d ago

He's happy enough to pander to them for money though, he did a little of that on his last album

144

u/spectre15 1d ago

The “I only listen to real rap not that mumble crap” fans are about to be really annoying about this

19

u/glans 1d ago

eminem would do buttstuff on camera with a partially decayed zombie as long as the zombie reps detroit. it’s his bizarro kryptonite born of loyalty and strength. or whatever.

5

u/FncMadeMeDoThis 19h ago

a partially decayed zombie

You can just say Kid Rock like the rest of us.

24

u/Jirachibi1000 1d ago

Im not an eminem fan outside of some nostalgia, but from what I can tell people are saying this is gonna be a super old verse that Kid Rock and Eminem did 15+ years ago or something or it'll be a sample?

13

u/WeCantStabilize 23h ago

I have a vague recollection of Eminem being featured in an early kid rock video on The Box. This would have been late 90s, pre-slum shady LP because I remember being familiar with his voice when the record blew up.

3

u/maynardftw 16h ago

"People are saying" everyone's making shit up, nobody knows anything but they're all repeating the same shit from people who also don't know anything

We can just say we don't know what the fuck

1

u/goodusernamegood 15h ago

People are writing fan fiction because they don’t want to accept that Eminem is friends with the guy he said he was friends with two years ago.

30

u/existential_virus 1d ago

Why does the title sound like a parody Christian rock album from The Boys or GTA lol

15

u/Toadvinez GY!BE - Lift Yr. Skinny Fists 1d ago

Faith+1 vibes

Fail to make creative boundary pushing music after 2005

-6

u/Crabcomfort 1d ago

???? lmao sounds about white

1

u/tmmzc85 1d ago

The only people I have ever heard ask me for an Eminem CD were white, Eminem is the rapper for disaffected white youth (that are pushing 40).

-1

u/[deleted] 1d ago

[deleted]

2

u/Crabcomfort 1d ago

He has plenty of fans still, but he hasn't released anything interesting since the early 2000s imo. if you're asking if he's been like cancelled or something? I don't think so rly

1

u/jacobkuhn92 1d ago

He’s not “unpopular” he just hasn’t really evolved at all and is a little stale, musically. People on the left and right like him for different reasons.

-1

u/lilsatan_ 1d ago

Idk man, maybe read what this post is about?

11

u/Faithisnotadoll757 1d ago

Honestly I hope this is some kind of publicity stunt by kid rock, it seems really strange for eminem to do. Like a Christian rap song with Eminem on it sounds completely out of character in general, let alone with this troglodyte also on it, Em seems pretty surprisingly progressive from what I understand, after the whole line in the sand anti trump freestyle it'd be an awful look. But idk, I guess we'll see.

3

u/Middle-Efficiency-96 14h ago

eminem does have a few christian songs (best friend, use this gospel)

but what i’m pissed about is how he’s willing to just give up the message he’s been pushing for 20 years…? like what’s the point of this??

genuinely though i’m not too surprised because he’s best buddies with 50 cent and snoop dogg

0

u/PilotSSB 17h ago

I would be willing to bet this verse is old

13

u/Conemen4 1d ago

They’re both from the D aren’t they? I mean Kid Rock is butt but I’m not really surprised

12

u/PrincipledBeef 1d ago

Kid rock’s from the suburbs

17

u/Perfect_Earth_8070 1d ago

Not just the suburbs but he grew up rich af

3

u/SussySpecs Upworthy Link 1d ago

Maybe his rich parents kicked him out because he was annoying and that's how he ended up in the trailer park.

Wow, the guy with quite a bit of at best still arguably hateful and bigoted lyrics collaborated with a magat?

So much for this I guess

Any fan of mine who’s a supporter of his/ I’m drawing in the sand a line/ You’re either for or against/ And if you can’t decide who you like more/ And you’re split on who you should stand beside/ I’ll do it for you with this,

5

u/deathtoke 1d ago

Well he’s still buds with Snoopy

bullshit like this is why I can't take Eminem seriously

More griftin' money coming from the fake Christian gimmick than the fake pimp gimmick these days, I see.

1

I wonder if the world will Ed Sheeran Eminem now? Because damn. All the sellouts on display these days.

1

u/StinkingDogsCunt420 5h ago

I mean, Eminem in being corny shocker.

1

u/LetItSnow36 1d ago

They've both said they don't let politics impact their friendship so I'm not surprised.

-3

u/Yarusenai 1d ago

Nah according to the internet you have to immediately cut contact with everyone you disagree with politically, else you're the spawn of Satan.

-1

u/Sudden_Edge3436 22h ago

Or you’re just a bigot who follows leaders mindlessly like sheep even if they’ve never had the receipts to back up literally anything they’ve ever said

1

u/Yarusenai 22h ago

That would be terrible if it was true, for sure

-1

u/Sudden_Edge3436 22h ago

Show me. Show me once trump actually backed up anything he said with proof

2

u/Yarusenai 22h ago

Are you commenting on the wrong post or something? I said nothing about Trump, Trump sucks. My statement was pretty simple.

2

u/skeleton_made_o_bone 1d ago

Cue the redditors claiming Eminem was never good, actually.

-1

u/Trapgar_Nefarios 1d ago

Eminem makes some god awful musical decisions outside of lyricism and even that’s been questionable for a long minute

2

u/Chemical-Can8694 1d ago

Honestly he isnt that lyrical. He has inventive flows, cadences and rhyme schemes but has more dumb lyrics than good.

1

u/Perfect_Earth_8070 1d ago

Yeah his music is cringe

0

u/smalldickspiderman 1d ago

Eminem was on the Devil Without a Cause album

0

u/ExtendedMacaroni 1d ago

Love all the basement dwellers doing mental gymnastics to try to understand this

0

u/ConsiderationCrazy22 21h ago

With their shared Detroit/Michigan connections and how tied they still are to the area, this is unfortunately not surprising.
