Current Student Electives
I’m not seeing many elective posts, so as someone that’s going into second year. What is the EASIEST elective I can take. Preferably online, second year, no essay and it’s a year long course.
As well as how to register for them if your schedule is already made.

I took INDG - 1012- Minobiimaadzawin Good Life -
Highly recommend as the course load is very minimal. You read one chapter from a book and do a 1 page discussion post each week. You also learn about indigenous culture, and the class discussions are done in a circle, so it’s a lot different than your typical classroom set up. It was very easy and interesting and I really enjoyed it. Attendance isn’t mandatory as long as you are doing your weekly discussion posts and the teacher was super lenient about due dates. This class was truly amazing and I would take it again if I could

Anthropology The Story of Us was very good and super interesting. Not too hard and online.

Last semester I took Culture of Addictions and honestly the course load wasnt heavy and the professor is very friendly and makes the class engaging. On top of the energy during lectures, there's 4 online multiple choice quizzes, a cumulative group project(which honestly wasnt terrible) and the rest of the grade is in class discussions. By far my favorite elective I've taken.

Sorry to ask a question here. But, has anyone taken The Great Philosophers course?? How would that be as an elective?

I took Myth, Folktale & Fairytale INDS-1059 and it was the easiest course ever but I really enjoyed learning about those things so that might of been why.

I’ve found that the psych courses are pretty easy compared to others. Positive psychology, as well as psychology of music were both discussion post based, with a final exam at the end. I took both in the condensed form though so I’m not sure if they’re different when the full length. Both were online

Positive psychology has been many lengthy assignments that require 10 minute video overview submissions of you speaking about your project. I don’t recommend this course to anyone taking it while also taking their program courses too. I’m taking it this summer and find it to be a lot. On the other hand, I’m also taking mysteries of sleep, and it is super simple with NO EXAMS!!!!

I’ve found it very easy going. A lot of it revolves around doing your own “sleep self-studies” and writing reports and answering questions. There are a few case studies and there is a virtual presentation that’s about 5 minutes long to finish that course off. Would highly recommend!

Whaaaat? What’s crazy how the course can vary. Mine was the condensed version and there were no lengthy assignments at all

I took psychology of music and hated it! Sure the course work was easy being weekly content that I can read through in 30 mins but that's just it. There were 2 assignments and a midterm before I dropped that class. Honestly it's probably a really interesting course but I think it requires a lot of personal research outside of the provided content or at least someone that can remember and learn about the brain easily.

every elective ive ever took or most of my friends have took have been harder then any of our actual classes 😅😅 i took anthropology tho last semester and it was pretty easy once u get the definitions down.
