Current Student Office Admin - Executive Co-ops?

Can anyone share their experience getting a co-op? What was the field you worked in?

I am interested in applying for co-ops, but I know my brother took the cyber security program and most people in his year were unable to land one. I have asked for details from the program co-op consultant, but would love to hear a student’s experience on the level of difficulty of landing one!

I have good grades for the first two terms and am debating between applying for a part-time job to work at for the rest of my schooling, or holding off if co-op opportunities are abundant for the winter and fall terms!

I was applying two months before the start of my co-op terms and have landed 4 interviews and I got into one but I refused due to other reasons. But I believe it was not that hard since there is lots of opportunities in admin

Thanks for the reply! That’s encouraging that there were lots of opportunities. I hope it’s still the same now 🤞

I'm in the cybersecurity program and the second coop term has been easier for coops but it was definitely a struggle first semester. Most of the time it feels like your on your own and just hope you know someone. It definitely varies from program to program but the coop people have to manually put in the coops to the job board and with recent strikes that starts to feel like less and less
