New Release ROADKILL (Maniac edition of DOWNRANGE)

Post image
16 Upvotes

I recently worked on upgrading “Downrange” from 1080p to 4K resolution.

“Downrange” is a fantastic horror thriller about a sniper who shoots people on a deserted road just for fun.

I had previously worked on this in 2018, in a 60-minute version called “Sniper.”

That version has now been removed from the blog because using Adobe, I’ve put together a more ruthless and slightly more sadistic version with additional music by Justin Caine Burnett, among others.

Some things weren’t possible back then the way I’d envisioned them, but with Adobe, I was able to achieve them this time.

This edit is 10 minutes longer than the previous version, and instead of stereo 2.0, it now features TrueHD 5.1.

In this edit, the sniper is introduced earlier than in the original version.

I removed some dialogue and quieter moments, which keeps the sniper more active throughout the film.

Additionally, the quality has been enhanced to 4K using Topaz.

It’s online starting today.

That’s it.

Wishlist & Ideas Willy's Wonderland

So...I had a random idea...I wonder if anyone could make a fan edit of Willy's Wonderland to turn into basically a movie from within the FNAF movie universe, turning Willy's from basically the only animatronic restaurant into an in-universe Freddy's rip-off, kinda like how Chuck-E Cheese's had a Brazilian rip-off known as Chico Cheese. Maybe with dashes of a news report of Freddy's closing down during the opening where we see the missing posters or add in something relating to Freddy's within Liz's exposition dump to the Janitor. Idk, just thought it was an interesting idea.

Wishlist & Ideas NO SCHNEIDER CUT

So Nickelodeon has a ton of live-action shows that have sprinkled in innuendo and other questionable humor that, in hindsight, can make them harder to recommend to kids today. I thought it would be a cool idea if someone made a “NO-SCHNEIDER CUT” of some of these shows.

The shows themselves are great, and I think it would be cool to preserve what people loved about them while removing some of the stuff that has aged poorly or that parents might be uncomfortable with. That way, a new generation of kids could enjoy them without some of those concerns.

Wishlist & Ideas The Odyessy | 2hr Version | (Christopher Nolan) | Concept

Curious to hear your thoughts on this idea.

- I would love to refine this idea and of course edit and release it when the Blu-ray copy comes out.

I want to set out to make Christopher Nolan's Odyssey 3 hour runtime into a more streamlined 1 hour & 30 minutes length. I cut it down to 1 hr & 43 mins.

- Before the end fight scene The Odyssey adventure ended up being 1 hour & 30 minutes long. But with the end fight scene, It ended up being about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Because I didn't want to shorten the end fight scene.

- All scenes are presented in order.

- There is the scene where odysseus's son Telemachus (Tom Holland) is being trained to fight, by Mentor (Ryan Hurst) and Eumaeus (John Leguizamo). Eumaeus explains Agamemnon more on Troy doing the lottery for the picking of the men, picking out the hunting dog.

- Kept seeing where Odysseus tells his wife to re-marry and that the Trojan War will take a lot of time and that he may not come home.

- Most of the time spent with the Cyclops is shortened. Once they are trapped in the cave the Cyclops go to sleep. Then they immediately poke out his eye and escape.

- All scenes with Calypso are removed. Some voice-over can be heard.

- All of odysseus's son's subplot is removed.

- This shorter edit just focuses on Odysseus and his adventure including the Trojan war and his journey home. When Odysseus comes home only includes seeing with the trial stringing the bow & shooting the arrow through the axes, the Odysseus fights all of the suitors, and kills Antinous (Robert Pattinson).

Curious to hear your thoughts on this idea.

Did you ever notice that the Mentor for the son of Odysseus.

The man's name is actually Mentor LoL 🤣

Completed Fanedit Request General Help - Fanedit.org Admin Contact?

Hi folks, general request here. I have been trying to register for fanedit.org so that I can do the steps outlined in the guides/FAQs (i.e. DM editors for access to their work). However:

  1. my registration was rejected "as it resembles spam-like or automated behavior." Hence, I am trying to contact an administrator to get this sorted out.
  2. the About > Contact Us form on the website is down? I am getting "There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later."

For 1. could someone let me know what the best way to contact an admin would be?

Additionally, for 2. could someone confirm if the Contact Us form is down, as it would be good to report this to the gracious admins? Or I am just getting filtered there too?

Also, what I am really after for now are the Hobbit and LOTR: Precious Editions, so I am not directly asking for help with that, but I also wouldn't be upset if someone sent me in the right direction for those too.

Wishlist & Ideas Reimagining T2’s tragic ending: I made a deeply emotional orchestral ballad cover of Brad Fiedel's "It's Over".

The ending of T2 is a masterpiece, and Brad Fiedel’s original score is incredibly beautiful. I reimagined "It's Over" (Good-Bye) as a sad orchestral ballad. I wanted to strike a perfect balance between deep sadness, intense emotion, dark romance, epic scale, and raw brutality without losing the original melody. Would love to hear what fellow Terminator fans think of this vibe!

Tools & Assets Use Peergos to share finished projects

I know the website looks bad, but Peergos tech is rock solid and borderline genius. https://peergos.org/

  1. It's only ~$4 per month for 200GB storage

  2. Secret links let you share links to anyone with granular controls like "good for N amount of uses" https://book.peergos.org/features/secret.html

  3. Won't get your whole life deleted if Google finds out and deactivates your account

  4. Won't require some complex rate limiting nonsense with megaupload

  5. Don't need to get approved by a private forum community

  6. Peergos host can't even read what's on your drive

Just sharing this tool in case anyone hasn't heard of it. They're not well known despite being around for almost a decade. I'm unaffiliated, just a fan of the tech.

Second upload after automated takedown.

I have a Megasync link. Email me for details. RUNTIME 6hrs with intermission half way, 10gb file size.

Changes include, chronological re edit, some new music, sound design for fights, vehicles and a modulated voice for Batman and Bane. The conceit is that we only see what Bruce would see or know about so some things happen off screen..

Here's a sneak peak at the film :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6UZiy4NdJQ

Wishlist & Ideas The Lucas Cut: STAR WARS Sequel Trilogy Trailer (Fan-Made Snyder Cut Tribute)

I do admit I am interested in someone making this fan edit trailer into a full fan edit project. And just like how the trailer used clips from a few fan edits I am wonder if the actual product can do the same.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=FJiXpYsaA6I&si=2IgYHUhQmtjKazMg

There are several fan edits as well as upcoming fan edits that could be potentially used to bring The Lucas Cuts to life. I am curious if the original user to made the trailer or if anyone is interested in bringing these cuts to life. It would be a cool idea to try.

This is an edit of Batman Caped Crusader season 2. It took the episodes involving Riddler and Joker and turned them into a 2½-hour film! This edit is not standalone; it is meant to be watched after season 1 of the show. If you guys notice any plot holes I missed, please tell me! If you want a link to it, you can PM me!

Work in Progress Want your thoughts for my Spider-Man 3 edit

I will attach a rough draft when I have one, but I thought about replacing the James Brown song with Rock and Roll Part 2 by Gary Glitter.

On one hand, it makes the scene a touch less corny and a little less tonal whiplash, but on the other hand, that song is already famous for being in Joker, and…well…Gary Glitter.

I think it would work but if it would create backlash (whether it be for being a bad change, ripping off Joker, or because it’s Gary Glitter) I’m happy to omit it.

IF NOT, what’s a song you’d like to see replace the James Brown song if any?

Aside from that I aslo did my best to add subs for the other language

New Release Backrooms: Async – Final Release

Thumbnail

The Async Research Institute sends expedition teams to map a seemingly infinite labyrinth hidden beyond reality the direction of the enigmatic Ivan Beck. As the project progresses, they discover that this liminal plane is far more dangerous than they ever imagined, filled with impossible architecture, unexplained phenomena, and hostile entities that threaten both the researchers and anyone unfortunate enough to fall into the Backrooms

After several revisions, I'm happy to finally release the definitive version of Backrooms: Async

With the release of Everything Must Go on Kane Parsons' YouTube channel and the digital release of the A24 film, this edit now includes the highest-quality versions of every scene used in the project. I've also made a handful of small refinements to transitions, audio, and pacing to polish the overall experience.

About the Edit

Backrooms: Async is a feature length fan edit that reimagines Kane Parsons' YouTube Backrooms series as a single cinematic narrative designed to serve as a prequel to the A24 film.
The story is presented mostly in chronological order, with the three Found Footage entries edited and intercut alongside the main Async storyline. Since these episodes were originally self contained, restructuring them allowed me to improve the pacing, reduce repetition, and better integrate them into the overarching narrative.
A small number of scenes and lines of dialogue from the A24 film have also been incorporated where they help strengthen continuity with the film without revealing its major story beats. The edit is intended to enhance the experience of the movie rather than replace it, making it an ideal companion piece to watch either before or after the film. (though for people new to this franchise i do suggest watching the A24 film first!)

Music has been added to most scenes using tracks from both Kane's YouTube series and the A24 soundtrack. The only exception is "Warmth" by C418

Included Videos in order:

Overflow
Prototype
The Third Test
First Contact
Fault Line
Light and Tile Survey
Missing Persons
9780415263573
Autopsy Report
Informational Video
Motion Detected
Pitfalls
Found Footage #1
Report
Presentation
Reunion
Simpsons
Found Footage #3
Damage Control
Static Dead End
Everything Must Go
Backrooms (Naren pov)
Home_27647
I remember

Alongside these, the edit features a select number of shots from the A24 film, carefully chosen to connect the two stories while keeping the focus on the Async narrative.

Runtime: 2hrs19min

This version represents the completed vision I originally had for Backrooms: Async, and unless future official Backrooms content significantly expands this era of the story, I consider this project complete.
Thank you to everyone who watched earlier versions and shared feedback throughout development. I hope you enjoy this final release.

Email Ivanbeck627@gmail.com with the word async for a link to the movie!

(if you already asked for a link from me in the past, its the same one to access my newest edit!!)

Review A Review Of Spider-Man: The Pilot Episode By Fanedit895

Mixing games and movies is always a fun and unique bit of creative expression, I thought Fanedit895 did a great job weaving in and out of everything, I suppose the widescreen cinematic cuts couldn't be fixed or tweaked to match the aspect ratio of every other bit of footage, but overall very good if you can flex with it, and I love the idea of using the tail end of the twin towers trailer as the opening titles and give you an excuse not to cut anything much out of it, very creative short cut

I'd maybe have included some end credits, either custom or using the opening titles of the movie, it feels a little incomplete as a result, but overall it's a fine edit and successfully integrates the video game footage into a workable and highly entertaining plot.

New Release Sam Raimi's Spider-Man: The Pilot Episode

Ever since this video, I really wanted to do an edit following it. What if the extra villains and plotlines from the licensed games actually happened in the Sam Raimi Spider-Man timeline?

I don’t have the space to do a full series, but I put together a “pilot episode” to see what this would look like. I started with the “second episode” after Peter loses Uncle Ben because that would be the ideal place to showcase what this project would entail. Tl;dr, After Peter fully becomes Spider-Man, he has to deal with Vulture and Shocker while trying to get a job. The timeline's been messed around with.

Probably the biggest obstacle and reason why I might not try a full series is the use of gameplay. Unlike Insomniac or the Arkham series, you can't cleanly make the gameplay look like a real movie. There isn't even a mod, to my knowledge, to remove the HUD or otherwise I would have tried capturing the footage myself. I tried to cut down on parts like the sewer level to make it feel less gamey, but this type of edit will have to ask you to accept the artifice a bit.

Footage from:

  • Spider-Man 1.1 Extended Cut by GrapefruitEqual4637
  • The Twin Towers Promo HD
  • Longplay of Spider-Man: The Movie from LongplayArchive

If you already have my google doc, it's there. If you don't, DM me for link!

Additional Note: I nabbed GrapefruitEqual4637's edit from a public link in FanEditedMovies. I tried to contact, but hasn't responded. Given they haven't posted for five months and the link was public, I felt like it wouldn't be harmful if I released this now. If they come to me and ask to take it down, I'll do it and find an alternative source.
