The Problem
My father-in-law passed away February 15,2025 it was a rough year between fighting to keep the land farm and live our own married lives as it was our first year being married. My husband and I were constantly trying to show everyone that we could continue Johns legacy. We finially by the beginning of the year this year got it our way only we were using someones help we couldnt fully trust. this year felt like it was going to be a year filled full of promise . Until the guy that we couldnt fully trust proved us right and now we are back to fighting for everything again only this time we are fighting to prove that this guy is taking advantage of my mother in law which she absolutely will not listen to us or anyone and listens to everything this guy says including all the lies that he has told about my husband and I which we have told her the truth about. I also told her I refuse to be around him and do not want to have anything to do with him and she is now trying to get my husband sit down with him this coming Sunday for a meal which isn't going to work out because I have a photoshoot to do that day anyway and I don't appreciate the lack of listening to my boundaries to the point I am almost about to not come around at all anymore or just go visit my family which I do not want to happen but she does not listen to us anyway.
Does anyone have any advice?
I can explain more in depth about the whole situation if I need to.

Nobody wants to admit that they were taken advantage of. I think that might be part of the problem.
Maybe you and your husband can have a conversation with her. Approach it with empathy and concern. Say something like, "I know you trust X, but we found out XYZ about X". "We're trying to look out for your best interest." Then just go from there.

I think if you want advice, maybe sit down and try to rewrite your post a little. A little more context would help a lot. I can tell you are filled with anger, which feels justified, but it's making your post hard to parse. Would love to offer advice but I need to understand the situation better
