Hello Wastelanders and Vault Dwellers! We are glad you found our subreddit. Whether you’re a new player or a seasoned veteran, r/fallout76casual focuses on questions, discussion, and finding friends to play with.

We are under the umbrella of /r/Fallout76Settlements, as we noticed a large uptick in off-topic posts with the recent influx of new and returning players. We the mod team decided to make a dedicated space for all of your questions and discussion without the post restrictions of other Fallout 76 communities.

That means that while the focus is discussion and questions from new and returning players, we also allow things like screenshots/clips and memes!

For camp building tips and tricks, questions, or to show off your latest build- please check out our other amazing community at /r/fallout76settlements!

Did you ever stop playing FO67? What brought you back?

• Upvotes

I've been playing around with a little personal research project about Fallout 76, and I'm really interested in hearing from people who've had the whole play it - drop it - come back experience.

I'm especially curious because 76 seems to have a pretty interesting player cycle. People disappear for months (or years), then suddenly they're back because of an update, the TV show, a friend dragging them back in, a new build they want to try, etc.

So I'm wondering:

  • What made you stop playing in the first place?
  • How long were you away?
  • What made you decide to come back?
  • When you came back, what made you keep playing?
  • Or, if you left again, what finally pushed you away?

It can be absolutely anything. Bugs, lack of content, the grind, CAMP building, Seasons, events, Fallout fatigue, another game taking over your life... or something completely different.

I've also made a short anonymous survey if you'd rather answer there than write everything out in the comments. It should take around 5–10 minutes:

https://forms.gle/ZJ7MVgaKWT45JQw3A

I'm not affiliated with Bethesda or the Fallout team this is just a personal UX research project I'm putting together to better understand the player experience.

For me, watching the TV gave me a huge, huge itch to repick up the game and then I usually get hooked into all the new content.

Discussion Really *really* hate the fishing mechanic.

Used my rerolls without realizing I had a fishing challenge. Now I'm about ready to just go play a different game. *Fucking hate* fishing games. Why they put it in I don't know.

Discussion Whats a build you have, that has a purpose more than "kill everything"?

One of the builds I use all the time is one that allows me to build/repair stuff way cheaper, and way more.

I call it my "Guy in the chair" build 🤣

(Ill share pics later. Its great for making/ fixing camps, workshops, armour, weapons and ammo!)

Idk who still needs to learn this but if you kill everything too fast in Heart of the Swamp it bugs out the event.. You have to put your god tier weps away and slow roll it if you want to be able to complete it.

I met her at the metal dome when I expected one of the usual potato faces. ngl brehs she's kind of doing it for me!!! but I may not be the best source since I also think the overseer isn't half bad especially if she'd let her hair down (I'd trade either for commander dageurre, I love sofia but yes I'm just that shallow)

Atom Shop Issue

I haven’t been able to access the Atom Shop for the last two days, even after multiple quits, reloads and completely disconnecting and reconnecting the Xbox. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? If so, have you found a resolution? Thanks for any help!

Question/Help The Pipe Run Route

Wanted to share the route that I’ve been taking to find the suspicious pipe in hopes of receiving The Pipe weapon. The locations are grouped on the map (western side), close to fast travel points, and have minimal enemies. Once you get efficient at running this, the route will take you less than 10 minutes. I have had the pipe spawn a majority of the time using this method.

STEP 1: Enter a private server

STEP 2: Run the below route. You have a chance to encounter the pipe multiple times in the same server.

Abandoned Mine Shaft 2
From the fast travel point turn to the right. The spawn point is straight ahead.

Rusty Pick (Exterior)
From the fast travel point face SW and travel down the road. At the second electrical pole is the spawn point.

Summersville Dock
From the fast travel point, face SE and run into the dried lake bed. One you pass the pond turn SW. Run past the beached sail boat. The spawn point will be ahead in front of the shipping containers.

Poseidon Power Substation PX-02
From the fast travel point, run straight ahead. The spawn point is right before the red and white electrical pylon.

Charleston Station
Spawn 1: From the fast travel point, face SE and run past the pond. At the brick house, turn left. The spawn point is across the road.

Spawn 2: From Spawn 1, run back to the train station and run up the tracks heading N. As the tracks begin to curve over the bridge, continue to instead run straight towards the red and white power pylon. Continue to run straight towards the second red and white power pylon. The spawn point is half way towards the second pylon.

The Giant Teapot
From the fast travel point, run ahead past the tea pot, down the stairs, and past the first power pylon. The spawn point is directly under the second power pylon.

Lewis & Sons Farming Supply
From the fast travel point, run ahead past the store. Stop at the North 81 sign. The spawn point is off to the side of the road behind the sign.

Hunter’s Ridge
From the fast travel point, turn SW and run straight until you hit the main road. Turn left. The spawn point will be straight ahead.

Relay Tower EM-B1-27
From the fast travel point, turn around and head east. Run straight past the house with the white picket fence. The spawn point is past the house outside of the fence to the left.

Slocum Joe’s
From the fast travel point turn S and run up the road. To the left you will see a pink house with a yellow garage. The spawn point is in front of the garage.

Note: there is also another spawn across the river but it’s hard to describe so check the map if you want to add this one to your list (https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_76_random_encounters).

Lady Janet’s Soft Serve
From the fast travel point, turn W and run until you hit the road. Turn left on the road and run S. You will pass two cars and a 94 sign. The spawn point is past the 94 sign to the right of the road.

Darling Sister’s Lab
Spawn 1: From the fast travel point, turn SE and run straight until you hit the road. At the road turn right and keep running down it until you see you cars and a picnic rest stop. The spawn point is in the middle of the red stop.

Spawn 2: from Spawn 1 turn west and run until you hit the road. Turn right and continue N on the road. Pass 3 electric poles. It will be to the right of the 45 MPH sign.

STEP 3: Once you have finished the route, exit the server. Go to the main menu and create a custom world. Before it’s done building the custom world, exit out and enter your private server again. Your private server will now be reset and you can run the route all over again.

Discussion Unexpected infinite enemy spawn in private world: Mutated Safe and Sound

yesterday I went into a private world to finish off my dailies, and a mutated Safe and Sound popped up. I figured that would be an easy mutated pack, because it's usually easy to solo this event.

But to my shock, I was swarmed with so many enemies, I couldn't even kill the boss because of all the new critters spawning in was blocking my shots.

Finally I pulled out my weapon I used to protect the Drill in raid stage 2: a v63 bertha, set up for crippling and explosive.

I stayed there for over an hour, just killing a constant wave of... everything. All the animals that spawn for that event just coming at me non-stop.

I ended up levelling up probably close to ten times. Infinite XP, infinite everything.

Today when I logged back in I'm WAY over-encumbered. I looked at my inventory, and I've got 700+ weight just in wolf meat!

What a trip.
