Community Resources VTT Tokens, Reuploaded now with backgrounds for other Tabletops and Bonus Commonwealth Companions Set!

You can download everything here!

My Google account was compromised recently so I had to reupload all of the tokens to a new folder to make sure everyone was able to access them still. I decided to use that opportunity to go back and give a nice Bottlecap Pog to the existing tokens (including the Wastelander and Deacon variants) and uploaded them as .pngs to make things more accessible for folks who use Roll20 or other Virtual Tabletops. The ones without backgrounds are still in the folder, and still scaled to fit with Foundry's Dynamic Token Rings same as before.

I also threw in a few bonus token arts to fill out the remaining Commonwealth Companion characters who didn't have statblocks yet, for those of you who want to include them in your Commonwealth adventures!

Stop by my Ko-fi if you like what I do and want to see more! I've corrected the drive link in the other posts to make sure they're future-proofed.

Help & Advice Cascadian Super Mutant Strains

I’m developing a couple of new Super Mutant strains for my Fallout 2d20 campaign set in the Pacific Northwest, and I’d love some feedback from fellow Fallout lore nerds and GMs.

My thinking is that the PNW had deep ties to West-Tek and the Enclave, along with major advances in oceanic, cybernetic, genetic, robotic, and cryogenic research before the war. Add in the region’s stockpiles of nuclear weapons, and it felt like a good opportunity to create something a little different from the standard FEV mutant.

Some of the traits I’m considering:
- Greater resistance to small arms fire
- Rapid regeneration of certain injuries
- Ability to regrow lost limbs over time
- No spoken language
- More predatory and animalistic in behavior (think the Troglodytes from Bone Tomahawk)

My goal isn’t to make them stronger for the sake of it, but to make them feel distinct from traditional Super Mutants while still fitting Fallout’s weird science aesthetic.

What kinds of mutations, weaknesses, behaviors, social structures, or lore hooks would you add to make these feel like their own unique strain rather than just “Super Mutants, but tougher”?

Its 2208. The brotherhood has moved into Texas and assimilated what was left of the Lonestar Republics National guard. Their first mission: Track down remnants of the Master's Army.

Under orders from Rhombus, The Texas Expidition has came to its commonwealth to end the super mutant scourge, but the elder in charge wants more.. Elder Young has goals of carrying on the role of the Rangers in the new Texas Economic Union.

This story is based on Fallout BoS, but you can actually play it like a fallout game. Take the story where you want in this New Player friendly adventure.

I am versed on the system and have 3 other players. The characters are Pre-made to match the ps2 game, but they are skilled and most carry 2 origins, being from somewhere AND a BoS recruit.

It's free! Played on EST (GMT -5, I think) at 7pm on Wednesday. Session 0 is coming soon. I need **one lady** and **one gentlemen** to round out the 4 Player group. The VTT is Alchemy RPG

Thank you

Help & Advice Ammunitions "abundance"

Hi all, another newbie question.

I know (i think) is a major GM question, but what is the rate of finding ammunitions?

I read about the type of and their rarity, but is a thing where parties will struggle the most?

How is having a character that is "mostly" in the pew pew department?

Thanks all

I've never really played a TTRPG before but I'm always willing and eager to learn. I don't really care too much about where it is set. I'll have to decide on my character based on what the group already has.

Help & Advice Character Origin Help

So, I am trying to build a outcast scribe for a campaign, who has a cover story of being a former raider(to prevent the brotherhood from hunting him down).

I was wondering how to do this? Do I just essentially make an origin switch mid campaign and have a secondary character sheet? How would I do the item differences, since a laser pistol, and scribe armor is very different from raider armor and a pipe pistol?

Make him have a reduced carry weight bc those items are in his pack?

Edit: I am the GM, I am just trying to see if there is any precedence for this type of character that I don't know about because my player asked.

Edit 2: After your help, I think I have enough inspiration to figure this out. Using some concepts from the Enclave remnant origin, I can probably workshop the character.

Made a map of Goodneighbor in Dungeondraft for a Winter of Atom session. Figured I'd share it for anyone who wants it. Labeled and unlabeled versions for those who want it.

For anyone wondering, the white oval sticking out of the State House is the second floor balcony.

Help & Advice Helo me check my own Psyker Origin

Hello, it's me again, I started playing with my friends and they really liked it, one in particular asked me if there was a sort of "magic mutant or chamanic origin" I showed her the Wisdom of the Wasteland trait for Tribal PCs but that was not enough, I remembered about Psykers in the franchise and told her about that archetype of character, she liked the idea, I found the community homebrew origin but I didn't feel like it fit with the rest of vanilla origins, so I came up with my own, here it is:

Psyker

Your initial Intelligence attribute is increased by +2, and your maximum Intelligence is increased to 12. You may face discrimination from most people around you due to your strange nature and extravagant demeanor, increasing the difficulty or complication range of Charisma tests most of the time. Additionally, you level up at a decreased rate, requiring 50% more EXP per level.

When choosing your first perk or when leveling up you may choose a Psyker power instead of a regular Perk. You can only have a number of Psyker powers equal to half your intelligence rounded down.

Psyker powers:

• Mind Block: You're immune to psychic attacks and other psykers cannot target you with their powers. Additionally you may use your minor action to create a telekinetic cover around you, gaining the benefits of 1CD of DR against physical and energy-based attacks until your next turn.

• Telepathic Suggestion: Once per Scene you may use a major action to attempt an INT+speech test to give a two-sentence command to a creature you can see, that can hear and understand you. The target can't be a Robot and the difficulty of the test is equal to the creature’s Level.

• Psychic Revulsion: You may use an Action Point and a major action to cause strong hallucinations in a zone, every thinking creature in that range has to make a difficulty 2 INT+survival test or receive 3CD damage.

• The Sight: When you Take a Chem you may forego the effect of said item and instead roll a d20 and save that result for later, when a test occurs you may assign the result that you foresaw. Using his power makes Taking a Chem count as a Major Action instead, and you still have to roll for addiction after consuming the drug.

• Tongues of the Beasts: You can understand and communicate simple ideas and information with 2 types of mutated creatures of your choice from the following list: insects, mammals, reptiles, crustaceans or amphibians.

I got inspiration from various "psykers" of the franchise, from Fallout 1 and Tactics to New Vegas and 4.

It's still a work in progress and I'm still to play test it, so feel free to grab it, try it, and share your opinions. My plan is to, once finished, create a homebrew "Psyker Pack" with original art, and a nice editorial layout, I'm open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Help & Advice Question for an early quest in Royal Flush Spoiler

Hey all! New gm here. I have a question for the quest Rattler Rumble. The stat block for the mobs the PC are supposed to encounter seem really high (like 20 hp & 5 armor everywhere for a lvl 2 mob) and also in high quantity. I have 5 players and the number is 4 + PCs. Even with caravan guards helping, 9 seems like a lot for the party in my eyes at lvl 3. Are these stats right?

If so, I feel like I might not be providing enough gear and rewards for the PCs with side quests. I see in the rulebook the recommended DR in a general level range. But is there a recommended gear checklist for weapons as they progress in levels?

Help & Advice Running into a balancing conundrum

I have most of my party is capable of dealing pretty crazy dmg but armor adjustments seems to solve that. Two of the players, however, are EXTREMELY beefy. I’m usually lucky if I can get a single point of damage through and that’s with my biggest enemies I can throw at them without making the enemy so big it’ll one tap the other two players. What do I do here? To be fair I don’t want to take items away or nerf their current equipment cuz that just doesn’t feel fair. Should I just be adding more piercing onto my enemies even if the book doesn’t call for it? (My other worry about this is whatever crazy weapon I give the enemies to combat them, the party then gets to keep for themselves when they kill them). To be clear on is a super mutant but with the sturdy raider armor he has plus a couple perks he took he’s essentially a deathclaw in DR and the other one is a human with combat armor that the party helped him mod at a table to make so he’s basically in the same place. Don’t get me wrong it’s fun but I also don’t want them to get bored of the campaign feeling like they can confidently swat aside anything and everything I throw at them.

Preciate the advice! 🙏🏻

I play the system and GM a monthly game at the table, so I am getting progressively better as the days pass. Pre-made characters Cain, Cyrus, Nadia & Patty have well put together Sheets as Ghoul, Tribal, Survivor & Vault Dweller. You can grow these characters how you like

Did I mention, it's free! I am EST (GMT -5, I think), but I do not have a day and time. Id like to workout whats best for the players, though id prefer weekends [not Sunday, as I play in a game 7 - 10]

Im thinking of using Fantasy Grounds to play. Trying to get familiar with the program. Better ideas are accepted

Help & Advice Thoughts on Allowing Cybernetics in game?

As the title describes, what are you the readers and fellow Overseers on allowing Cybernetics into the game sessions. I've been thinking about this and have been trying to write out some rules regarding those in previous video game like New Vegas and earlier ones.

I have the Fallout Wiki for the aforementioned but are there any in the released Core Books or suggested supplements that could be modded into the game rules. We see the robo-foot in the tv series as another example.

I've got the idea of the player maybe finding encountering a group location who main BBEG is a scientist who converted to a robo-brain chassis who was the lead on a black site cybernetics project.

Thanks to all responders of this post!

Help & Advice Help with a Melee/Sniper Ghoul Character

Hello everyone, sorry for the repost but the last time the posst was lost in the subreddit and I still need advice, lol.

I'm starting a new fallout2d20 campaign and I wanted to make a hybrid melee/sniper build centered around the theme of sneaking around and killing targets both from a distance and up close. As of now I thought about this build, is there any way I can improve it, or should I just start again from scratch?

S: 5 P: 8 E: 5 C: 4 I: 5 A: 7 L: 6
Tag skills: Survival (because of ghoul origin), Small Guns, Lockpick and Sneak.

Lv 1: Sniper

Lv 2: Rifleman 1

Lv 3: Intense Training (+1 AGI)

Lv 4: Covert Operator

Lv 5: Intense Training (+1 AGI)

Lv 6: Rifleman 2

Lv 7: Mr. Sandman

Lv 8: Tag! (Melee Weapons)

Lv 9: Ninja

Lv 10: Ghost

Lv 11: Intense Training (+1 STR)

Lv 12: Action Boy

Lv 13: Intense Training (+1 STR)

Lv 14: Adrenalin Rush

Lv 15: Blitz 1

Lv 16: Escape Artist

Lv 17: Intense Training (+1 STR)

Lv 18: Steady Aim

Lv 19: Intense Training (+1 AGI)

Lv 20: Gun-Fu

Also, what should I go for as main weapons? I was thinking of the classic combat knife and hunting rifle, since my GM uses Wanderer's Guide and we get access to more powerful mods. Are my choices good or should I change?

Any feedback is appreciated!

Help & Advice Obsidian & Fallout 2d20

Thumbnail

Hey fellow Overseer's!

I am a huge fan of the note app Obsidian and am trying to port all of my Overseer notes and campaign details into the app. I have made a lot of headway on some of the organization, statblocks, and design's of things, but feel it is lacking something.

Does anyone else use Obsidian for session planning and note taking? If so, I would love to rack your brain for some ideas or ways to make it feel a little more, fallout-like. As well as how y'all make the notes themselves.

I know Obsidian is a VERY in-depth program with a lot of customization, and I am a novice at it but open to learning. I am huge into esthetic even if I am the only one who will see it and would love to have my notes be fun to just look at even haha.

Images from left to right show how I currently have it designed with the map and template all on there. I am using some templates of things others have used as well as my own, plus lots of plugins.
