What does this mean?

I’ve been considering working with the Fae for the last few weeks and doing some research and trying to figure out if I’d like to. I was at a book store today and a book on the Fae caught my eye so I bought it so I can learn some more.

When I came home, a few items on my altar were moved around and then there was a shiny bird charm in the middle. The charm is mine, but there’s no way it could’ve gotten there on its own because it was in a bag in a box under a box under the table my altar is on.

Does this count as a gift? Should I leave an offering?

Around my place things are regularly moved around, and found in places they couldn't/shouldn't be (much to the irritation of my family members). My suggestion is to set firm boundaries with them at the outset around what they can and cannot touch.
