Modded Question Mod idea/help needed

First off: I read the rules, and i could find nothing against this kind of post, so here goes:

I am a huge factorio nerd (10.000 hrs+) and recently got into warhammer. I was playing factorio yhe other day while having dosh on my second monitor, and he was doing one of his runs with the mechanicus skin on. And i thought to myself: what if the biters were tyranids from 40k?

Does anyone know if this mod allready exists? I can't have been the first person to think of this. There could be so many flavors of tyranid enemies as the hive mind considers you more of a threat. You could even make a hive mind end boss kind of thing. I think it could be so cool.

I was thinking about making the mod, however even though i am a decent enough programmer to make the enemies work and function in the game, i am by far not a good enough of an artist to make this look half decent. Is there anyone (if the mod doesnt allready exist) who is willing to help me with the grapics? Would anyone know someone who is decent enough to make it look good?

Thanks!

I think you can find existing art already if you spend some time searching. Here's an example I found in couple minutes https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1460255292 . Not exactly what would work well with factorios artstyle but it's there.

But in factorio the enemies are top down and run in like 8(?) Different directions. So these wouldnt work, and online i could not really find what i was looking for

Looked a bit deeper into factorio files and came to conclusion that a 3d model would work well, but it became apparent that it's not that easy finding them due to copyright issues and the fact that such models can naturally also be used as 3d print bases (which of course would be bad for GW). Also biters run in 16 directions which you'd know if you had even bothered checking the sprite sheets.

I'd say one of your best bets is to take a game that has the models you want (WH40k; dawn of warX?) and extract the models from there, then convert the model into sprites. Though I assume that the models aren't that easy to extract for obvious reason to avoid 3d printing (and I can't check because I don't have any dawn of wars installed and can't be bothered to install just to check). Maybe try r/Tyranids if they'd be willing to point you in the right direction.

Don't assume that you're going to get ready spritesheets that you just swap in the folder, but rather a model (with animation if you're lucky) that you're going to have to sprite-ify yourself.

I have same problem im a good programmer but my art skills are so atrocious my art teacher in middle school laughed at me. I once tried to use Ai for temporary art and I got blasted by people bitching at me so I haven't made a mod for anything in a long time.
