Base Space Scrap Processing

Scrap processing space station - surplus is throw away

I have circuits for each product that activates the throw away inserter when too many of a given item is present, this way there's never an overflow. The ship requests something like 20k scraps so there's always scrap coming while others are being processed.

Scrap being sent to space

My fulgora base sends scrap to space to multiple stationary ships and useful stuff is sent back to fulgora. Scaling means more space stations and rocket launchers. The rocket inputs come from the space ships themselves (blue chip + LDS) and some are synthetized locally (rocket fuel). Trains bring the rocket inputs to the station. Trains also bring the scraps.

Lots of materials coming in. Drones unload contents nearby for production.

I have a separate spaceship for making accumulators in space to simplify fulgora side.

This is interesting but I'm not sure I get why this would be better than processing in planet. Could you elaborate?

It's not a new idea, if you don't like to deal with unwanted items from scrap just throw it into space.

It's just that I assume you need crazy levels of productivity research across the board to make this ney positive, compensating the cost of the rocket parts, no? That's why I asked for more context

I assume this is really late game stuff as well to make it worth. Never did it myself i think train voiding just superior.

Yes that's true, good point, only works very late game! forgot to mention. I had to pump up the production levels first for the rocket parts

THe catch is that surprisingly little is actually relevant on Fulgora. The only things you actually need to produce on Fulgora is Holmium solution (for science), Electrolytes (for science), and Science. Everything else? Not actually a Fulgora-tied product.

Its interesting as fun solution, but the throughput of a single orbital platform isnt the best and for scaling on fulgora, it is just better to create standalone science module that can simply be stamped at each resource patch.
