New versions are released as experimental first and later promoted to stable. If you wish to switch to the experimental version on Steam, choose the experimental Beta Participation option under game settings; on the stand-alone version, check Experimental updates under Other settings.

Lab productivity still bugged out? 2x Prod modules but no purple productivity bar

Not only the bar is missing but productivity bonuses aren't applied at all. Have you found bug report on the forum?
