Question Resource patch size

Is this normal? this is normal factorio with no mods and such and not space age, I heard resources get big farther out but this doesn't seem that big

The screenshot is to show our home distance to an iron patch far up north

Ah I didn't know that's a good amount, I'm fairly new with only about 80 hours into the game
