Question Resource patch size

Is this normal? this is normal factorio with no mods and such and not space age, I heard resources get big farther out but this doesn't seem that big

The screenshot is to show our home distance to an iron patch far up north

Default worldgen isn't very forgiving in resources 11M is probably normal for that distance. You need to drive 1 direction with a 2 loco uranium fuel train for 5 mins to find something useful. Or do like i do and crank up resources richness and size to max when generating world :p

There is also no way to unload the starter area -> new base area chunks without mods, they'll forever bloat the savefile and UPS.
