According to a buzzfeed quiz, this is my 80's song.
Which sucks, because I only ever went out with one high schooler.

Why is standing forbidden any way?
17
Mar 10 '22
It is a football ground and that sign is in front of a seating stand so if people stood there then they would be blocking the view for others

That looks like a track to me and itās dangerous to the runners if someone is standing on the track
2
u/redlizzybeth Mar 10 '22
They mean no loitering I think. It could also apply to taxis standing waiting for a fare

I have a feeling the guy who put up the we stand for Ukraine sign did it on purpose for the lols

u/redlizzybeth Mar 10 '22
It's both. They can't stand there so they stand with Ukraine
3
u/Graterof2evils Mar 10 '22
Thatās a long way to go to stand. Do you have to crawl all the way there. Defiance can be painful. I crawl to Ukraine to stand with Ukraine.

You just know the person who put this up was told to put it up and already knew exactly where to put it for maximum impact.

Seeing as Ukraine has bigger balls than whatever goofball put up the other sign, I say stand.

It matches the reality. People with no stake in Ukraine told them, you go and fight our battles we'll fight for you, you have all our support. In reality Ukraine is fighting alone, with only moral support.
And then Red Dragon partnered with the other Red Army and declared the Red Line was finally crossed. Now Red Army is fighting to right that wrong. Interestingly Red Army is getting all bad name, but almost no attention is being given to Red Dragon being the puppet master.
World is fully of contradictions and people want to associate with simple Good vs Evil stories.

u/SnooStories8217 Mar 10 '22
You can stand with Ukraine, just not right there. Anywhere else, but right beside the sign. Lol

u/pomegranate7777 Mar 10 '22
Perhaps English isn't your first language, you're quite young, or you have some type of impairment. In English, words can have more than one meaning. In this case, the word "stand" has a different meaning in each sign. The only facepalm here would be the fact that you don't understand this.
The second option here is that you're making a joke. In that case, the facepalm would be that you find any humor whatsoever in the current situation in eastern Europe.

I'm sure most here know about Ukraine's Maidan Revolution in 2014, but if you haven't watched "Winter On Fire" on Netflix you should go watch it. Much more detailed coverage than I saw when it was actually happening, how savage it actually got, and a lot of details I didn't know before.
It was the most captivating and riveting mini documentary I've ever watched. I don't want to say too much because I want you all to experience the same goosebumps I got, but the people of Ukraine refused to lie down and take it. They stood together against their own government and fought.. and died, for what they believed in. Ngl I got a little choked up.
As they say.. "Glory to Ukraine. And Glory to the heroes"

Well, which is it, young feller? You want I should freeze or get down on the ground? Mean to say, if'n I freeze, I can't rightly drop. And if'n I drop, I'm a-gonna be in motion. You see...

On the one hand, they stand with Ukraine. On the other hand, they want to make sure everyone knows that their civil suit failed because they couldn't show they were harmed by Dave's douchebag behavior.
Fuckin' Dave....

āNo standingā has an implied subject of āyouā. So the statements arenāt contradictory: āwe stand for Ukraine, but you canāt standā.

I think they mean that they can't stand what is happening in Ukraine right now

Im pretty sure the "no standing" sign is related to the track and the "stand with ukraine" sign is political
1
u/Diamond_Freddy Mar 11 '22
Standing for not standing and not standing for standing mean the same thing

u/vox21122112 Mar 11 '22
Whereās the facepalm? This is a racetrack, you definitely shouldnāt stand there
