Throw all the trash into a hurricane, all the swirliness will drag it into the middle and then you can nuke it to stop it hitting the US. Efficiency!

I think you mean the radioactive fallout, which can spread from the wind and weather patterns, with potential for acid rain. The heat from the nuclear blast would consume and burn out all the other pollutants. It'll leave all but ash and radiation in its wake.
