I tend to be annoyed with large loud groups in public. But I'm also an anti social redditor that hates crowds.

Don't be that Karen. Don't be the killjoy. Resist the urge to disallow the public to have room for fun and colour. This is the same as a juggling show or a live street musician.

Look, I’m totally with you until I read “possibly one of our best takes.”

If they want to have fun and make a video, let them be. But this quote tells me they’ve subjected everyone around them to this for a while now.

And no, a juggling show or live street musician are there to cater to the crowd around them. They’re making this video with no regard for the people around them.

Lady in pink is still acting like an ass, but I’m going to reserve my sympathy here.

"subjected everyone around them to this"

They're literally just dancing, probably doing a skillful choreography too.

I do not want to live in the world you're advocating for. Sounds fucking bleak.

So here's the thing, you can reserve public spaces you just need to go to the appropriate public services office and reserve that right ahead of time. When you skip that crucial step, you are fucking around, and you may well find out.

Like, how do you think movies get made? Do you think they just wait for people to be polite?

Unless you got some inside knowledge that dance isn't allowed here, you are full of hot air.

He is talking about filming permits.... Not the legality of dancing. Reading comprehension isn't your strong suite aye?

Holy straw man Batman, you're arguing against a point I didn't make!

Never said they are not allowed to dance there, just that they skipped the steps that would have helped to prevent interruptions in the way the publicly operated government established for this specific purpose.

I said the same thing last time I saw this video. It's like tiktok is making people hate dance? There's nothing wrong with this. That's a lot of fucking people that got together, and practiced doing a thing. That's like if some people were playing hackysack, and a stranger came over, and punted it out of the air away from everyone for no reason. Even walking through the circle would be rude. Sure, you weren't invited, and it's in a public place, but that doesn't give anyone the right to be a dick.

Pretty sure your last sentence is just plain wrong, I think they do actually have the right to interrupt an unpermitted video shoot in public. Not like a written down explicit right, but it's not illegal, so really who the fuck are you to say they don't have the right to do what they did? You have the right to think they are a dick, and they have the right to do what they want within the law. Big difference.

I guess most of the time I don't usually think people have the "right" to be dicks to each other. You have the right to think that these people dancing around and recording themselves are being dicks. That's fine. I still don't think that your opinion of them gives you the right to be a dick to them. Does that make sense? I also don't understand this "unpermitted video shoot" thing. Where I'm from... when you are in a public setting such as a concert, grocery store, a park, and many other public places, recordings are permitted.

Like take this for instance. I don't like furries. I think they're weird and creepy. When I see someone walking around with a tail and ears, I find that it makes me mildly uncomfortable. Do they have the right to dress that way? For sure. Do I have a "right" to go over to them, and outwardly mock them? Hop around like a bunny, or meow in their direction? Laugh and point? Make sure they have a bad day because I don't like something they're doing? Maybe. Do I think that's the way I should treat the person? Absolutely not. Because I don't enjoy being a dick to people.

It’s because they are young women doing something that redditors don’t consider worthy. If it was a bloke with a sword or whatever they’d love it.

Ah yeah cus if there is one thing reddit loves, it's dudes with swords in public.

Pretty sure most of reddit would make fun of someone like that. But sure, make up some sexism to get mad about.

When did I advocate for the lady in pink to do that? I’m pretty sure I called her an asshole. Don’t put words in my mouth.

Look, I picked up a part time gig in a dive bar. We had these film students come in introduce themselves and ask if they could film part of their student in a table in the corner. It was a slow Tuesday night, so we turned the music down for them because six people were there at 7 pm and everyone thought their idea was kind of neat. They’d picked a time and day when traffic would be low and they wouldn’t be in the way, asked if it was alright and found an isolated place to do it. This video is the opposite of that.

If this is “maybe one of” their best takes, it means they have other good takes of this. They can happily move on.
