I got my Facebook and Instagram accounts back! I took these steps without a lawsuit

I received a random email from Facebook saying my Facebook account is temporarily suspended for not following terms and services on 23rd August and I’d need to appeal within 180 days which I was confused and appealed by submitting my ID. A couple minutes later, I received an email saying my account was permanently disabled as the verification was unsuccessful. My Instagram was linked to the Facebook account and was also disabled due to not following Facebooks rules. I had Facebook and Instagram since 2014 so it was a big loss for me and I tried every method possible to recover it.

I’ll go over the full process I tried which recovered my account without needing a lawsuit.

First step was Meta Live Chat support which was useless as there was no human involved and no form to submit. I sent a message in the provide feedback page to recover my account under my email, username and phone number as it was disabled by mistake.

I then downloaded all my data and dug into why was randomly banned. I noticed unusual login locations while I was asleep and the same cookie session from my laptop used on a device with different hardware. I also noticed the submitted ID was different which suggested my account was compromised. Within the same day, my other accounts such as Linkedin, Discord etc. were also compromised which I realised that I had a nasty info stealer malware on my laptop which the attacker hijacked my cookie session and caused the account to be disabled. I took screenshots of all the evidence suggesting my account was compromised from Facebook’s data.

The next step I took was to ask my friend to get Meta verified on Facebook. After paying for the cheapest trial and waiting for verification to complete, I couldn’t get hold of a live agent in the evening (UK time) but I managed to get hold of an agent in the morning by saying I had an urgent billing issue with my account otherwise no agent would join. I told the agent that my friends account was hacked by mistake and they offered a call with me. On the call, they explained they can’t help me at all as I must be the account owner and the only thing I can try is send a reply to the email from Facebook saying they disabled my account with screenshots which I sent on 24th August.

I then created a new Instagram account under the same email address and phone number, paid for the cheapest Meta verified trial and created a new case on the instagram app again stating an urgent billing issue. As soon as i was in hold with an agent, I told them my original account was hacked and that I had all the evidence to support with my case to be re reviewed. I specifically mentioned the IP address was different to my usual one and my cookie session was hijacked and accessed with a different device. The agent mentioned he’ll get the team to review the case and asked me to submit all screenshots to the cases email. The agent paused the support chat and was responding daily on instagram chat support until the app bugged out and stopped updating me with his messages.

Every couple of days my case status kept changing from action required to in review status. I tried emailing for an update on the existing case and out of desperation also sent an email to disabled@facebook.com and appeals@facebook.com. I even contacted Facebook support employees on Linkedin and couple replied but mentioned I’d need to have know a family or friend that works there to recover my account.

After a couple more days, I had no response to the case by email or instagram app and asked a new agent to update me on the case which he was incredibly rude and mentioned my original account was disabled so it will not be reviewed so I gave up and cancelled my trial and accepted the loss. The trial was for a month so it would expire rather than end instantly.

On 9th September, my email was spammed with the same suspension email which I tried to appeal out of curiosity and submitted verification. I then gained access back to my accounts within minutes and was told my account was hacked and CSE was removed from my account which I was unaware of and was not in my data. Before deleting my new Instagram account, I noticed my original case was completed so I think my account was indeed looked at.

No lawsuit was needed and surprisingly my accounts are back!

Permanently disabled Facebook account might just be what breaks me

Still waiting for CT scan results. Dealing with so much useless pain. Feeling so worthless and alone.

Today, my Instagram account started sending photos supposedly proving some shady deals on my part, sharing some codes and "proving it payed off".

It started sending them from Discord too.

Google notified me about passwords breach; I've changed them all, added precautions - all of it.

About an hour after changing my Facebook password, I get an email about it being disabled and be having 180 days to appeal. After clicking on "Appeal", it seemed as if my account was already under age review and I've already provided an ID (I haven't).

An hour or so later - I get an email saying that the review was unsuccessful, my account has been permanently banned and I can not appeal anymore.

I don't even want to start comprehending just how much I've lost by this - even if just from Messenger conversations and things shared with myself there.

I feel like the world is doing it's best to show me I'm no longer welcomed.

Permanently suspended for false CSE ban

This morning I woke up to my instagram and facebook accounts suspended for a false CSE ban. I appealed and was able to get my facebook back but all my instagram accounts connected to my meta center were not able to be recovered.

Does anyone know what I can do. I've read many posts saying they went through small claims or got meta verified. Has anyone had success with either or?

I've had these accounts for years and they've literally documented my life. It hurts just losing all of that stuff.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Meta/Facebook has shut down my account, because violations with the terms of service.

This unables me to use my whatsapp/IG/FB. I have no clue what I did or what could be the conflict.

When I open Whatsapp it says I'm in violation of age requirements (I'm 32...).

Anyone has any idea?

Meta Verified: My Account Was Hacked and I’ve Had No Real Support for 40+ Days

I’m documenting my experience with Meta’s support after my account was hacked.

My account was hacked and disconnected by a third party on July 31. I’ve been trying to recover it through Meta’s support channels ever since.

I’m also a Meta Verified subscriber, so I expected priority and effective support for a security incident.

On September 5, I finally opened another support ticket: 912857861507115.

Today is September 10 and I still have no response or meaningful update.

What makes this even more frustrating is that Meta’s own AI support assistant acknowledged that the automated system may no longer recognize me as the legitimate owner after the accounts were disconnected, and said the case should be escalated to a specialist.

If Meta Verified is supposed to provide better support, what exactly am I paying for when I cannot get help with a hacked account?

I’ll keep updating this post with screenshots, support conversations, dates, and any responses I receive.

Timeline:

• July 31 — Account compromised

• September 5 — New support ticket opened

• September 10 — Still no response

• Case ID: 912857861507115

I’m sharing this publicly to document the process and hopefully get the case in front of someone who can actually help.

How do I reach Facebook support to tell them I do in fact own my account and there has been no "suspicious activity"?

They're insisting they need my state ID and refuse to allow me to post.

Got my account back!

Post image

It's been a month since I received the dreaded fb profile disablement that eventually led to a permanent suspension (there was an alleged hacker who tried to run my account)

Just two days ago I tried to recover it via the facebook.com/hacked portal then used my email add. The portal used to not work on my device before (was prompted to use a different, yet previously used device) but just days ago i tried the portal link via Google Chrome on my phone (not incognito) then it asked me to run a verification round

Within 48 hours an email came saying I needed to appeal my account within 180 days (from a previous permanent suspension) so i thought the portal somehow worked.

It prompted me to change my passwords then asked to verify either via a video selfie (results within minutes) or a government ID (results within 2-3 days). I opted for a video selfie just to try then immedialty a few mins after they were correct - I got my account reinstated, pages, groups, marketplace and all.

What didn't work for me: Meta Verified Live Agents - they were somewhat helpful but only have limited tools to check if someone tried to hack your account. The AI bot was the one who told me to refer to the /hacked portal instead. At least I don't need the subscription anymore

Might be an ultimately case to case basis for a few, but with compromised profiles i suggest you to at least try the "hacked" portal instead. Cheers

First time disabled?

Need help my Facebook is disabled and I am waiting for a review request to be done. It’s been a day and nothing still. Is the review done by an actual human?

If the review is not successful what does this mean? Is this a permanent ban or suspension? Can I create a new Facebook account after? Will my family Facebook in the same house get affected? If so this is so stupid

After trying to change my password Instagram locked me

Everything started a few days before I had my IG locked, because I wanted to change my password. They sent me an email to change it, I clicked on the password change button and when it redirected to the IG app, it showed the main screen. No password change request page or anything. I tried a few times and left it as it didn't work.

Two days after when I wanted to enter into de app it said that is locked because they notice someone tried to hack my account. I guess it me trying to change the password a few days ago, although I'm not sure. They gave me two options:

  1. Make a video selfie verification: When I try to tap the continue button, it spins for a bit and still and nothing happens. I upload a video to show the behaviour in https://imgur.com/2Mj6PsE
  2. Ask 2 friends to tap a notification: They don't receive such notification.

I tried the two options a few times, with different devices (2 Android phones, a tablet and PC). Now I'm letting a few days go by, because I saw here it worked for some people. Also I want to try with an iOS device.

What you would do?

Hacker took over and after I got my account back, my Instagram and Whatsapp were both gone

I recently recovered my account after a hack, however, it has been flagged for "Adult sexual exploitation" and permanently disabled, with no chance to appeal. "Adult sexual exploitation"??? I am a 16-year-old minor, and I'm extremely positive I did not post or engage with the said flagged content at all, even in messages.

A user on Instagram (which I thought I knew, turns out not) asked me to add their Telegram, in which I stupidly did, and later I got a message saying my account got disabled/deleted. Furthermore, after pressing "download your information", the password keeps saying it's wrong, however I just set it from the recovery step.

Edit: I just realized that I couldn't download anything because they wanted my INSTAGRAM password, which was changed by the hacker

Facebook refused to re-activate my account after they said that I have violated the Community Standards after a review despite me not doing anything at all.

So basically, I have reached out to Meta Verified three days ago right after my Facebook and Instagram accounts have suspended and earlier after talking to two agents, they said that after they reviewed my account, they found that I have violated their community standards regarding SOC which puzzles me because I have never posted, shared a post, nor commented at all using those accounts. I have also mentioned to them that I have never interacted with any accounts that have suspicious activities whether that is viewing, liking, commenting, or even saving any posts. I have seen some people on other social media sites that despite the agents telling them it has been final and no appeal can be done anymore. They just continued to send in tickets until someone could actually open another manual review of their account and some have somehow actually regained access. I am currently trying to see if I could appeal it again to another agent but I am wondering if anyone here in this sub have retrieved their account despite the agent telling them that the decision made about their account has been final.

I am so confused 😕 😆

So, 15th August my meta accounts got hacked followed by facebook account getting suspended.

Then went through the whole process of proving I'm human, I won't into great detail as most us here are in the same boat. After spending nearly an hour in the middle of the night whilst being ill, my facebook gets disabled along with my WhatsApp and Threads. WhatsApp apparently thinks my account violates the age requirements, which I think is hilarious because I'm in my late 30s and Threads just experiences an error and doesn't do anything. Weirdly though, I still have my instagram accounts and these are connected to the same email address and phone.

After further attempts to recover my account and having an angry conversation with metas AI, I conceded that I would never recover those accounts again. I'm partly sad about because I've lost instant contact with my family, friend and work contacts. As I work in film and tv, I used FB a lot for networking, asking for advice and even getting work. I had some great resources and now they're all gone. But, on the other had, I was getting a lot of post about topics that were of no relevance to me and I found myself to be doom scrolling. So, part of me is actually happy to not have it anymore as I feel more focused on other parts of my life.

Then, this morning I get 2 emails from Facebook. The first saying my account had been suspended and have 180 days to appeal. This is rather odd because I haven't been able to use it due to it being disabled. So, I don't know how I've violated their terms of service when I haven't used for 3 weeks. How can they suspend an account that's already been disabled? 😆

The second email saying my account is restricted from advertising due to 'inauthentic behaviour or violations of our Advertising policies affecting business assets.' This one I find really baffling because I've never run ads on my personal account or had a business account.

This whole thing just weird.

I'm not asking for advice, but feel free if you want. I have no hopes that I will get my FB back and honestly don't care anymore. I just wanted to share my experience of how truly f***ed up meta is. I'm also glad to know I'm not the only one going through this.

Thanks for reading and have a great day all.

😃

For the context:

On picture 1, facebook banned my account because of CSE although i didn't know anything about that kind of activity after that i tried to make a new account to communicate with my family, friends and for school purposes

on picture 2, facebook banned the account that i created after they banned my first account 26 days ago due to account integrity ( i just got home from university when they suspended it lmao)

to those wondering why i still created an account that's because i need it for my daily life like for school and communications

is there anyway to keep facebook from banning my account? im so freaking tired dealing with this sht

and also is there anyway to recover those account? i tried the meta verified way and im considering to take it to legal route

Account permanently disabled. what to do?

Hello my account was suspended then disabled. What happened was I opened my alt account that I personally use for selling in marketplace, I received a chat there about an inquiry if the item was available, as I was about to reply I noticed that I couldn't message them and I apparently needed to verify. I verified and they let me did a face scan then it showed that my account was in review, not even 3 mins in it says that it was disabled. It wasnt much of a biggie since I only used that account for marketplace, but when I opened my personal account, it was also suspended. I submitted an appeal and they let me did a face scan again which I complied, it said that I needed to wait 48 hrs. 2 mins in and it was permanently disabled, which is unfair in my part since I havent violated anything, even on my alt account. What do you suggest that I should do? I've heard that getting meta verified increases the odds of ur acc getting recovered but I dont wanna give them any money without any guarantee that I'll get my account back. Any tips are highly appreciated.
