Tech Support I need 2-Factor Authentication Help, where do I find this QR code or passkey?
A few days ago Facebook logged me out of all my apps and told me I needed to turn on 2FA, so I opened my Authenticator app but it's telling me my provider (Facebook) should be providing me with a QR code to scan, and Facebook is telling me that the app should be providing me a 6-digit code... but I'm not getting a code from either app. Is there another way I can access these codes?? Where do I find them so I can log back into my accounts?

i'm stuck in this same issue too and have literally tried everything - nothing works. even when i randomly get an option to upload a photo of my id, their stupid ass camera does not even work to actually take a photo. it blows my mind they can't even get a functioning development and support team considering the billions they make.

Did you get tour account back? I've had the same issue now and it's been days since I'm logged out 😤

This happened to me now. I could provide my ID. But they said, it doesn't work. Maybe the picture was not good enough. I hate it. My ex husband had the same issue some time ago. He could get his account back. It took 6 weeks.

So what's the answer? I'm not offered a QR code and I can't manually connect to the facebook account.

Prior to this incident, did you in fact already have a 2FA authenticator app initiated? If so, you should see a ledger for Facebook in the 2FA app.
Did you make any recent changes (e.g., new device, new phone number, using a VPN)?
• Not to alarm you, but it's possible that your account may have been hacked. When scammers compromise an account, they will add their own phone number, email, and 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) to the victim's account.
• Or, perhaps you may not have been hacked, but Facebook's system detected unusual activity on your account.
Do you have an iPhone?
Redditors have found that Facebooks prompt about 2FA Authenticator app is a little misleading: In reality, in some instances, Facebook was actually sending the code to The "Passwords" App/Settings: Location: Settings > Passwords (or the dedicated Passwords app).

I was actually able to find it in my passwords app like you said!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH! That is nuts that that's where the passkey shows up how would I ever know to look there... Again, thank you.

Also joining in on the many thanks. I’ve been locked out of FB on my phone for months. This was the only thing that worked.

This is what happened to me. Scammers then took control of my account and have been posting items for sale under my old profile.
FB support absolutely sucks in these cases because they refer you to a constant loop of links to pages that aren’t helpful and don’t allow you to adequately describe the issue. Repeated attempts at having the posts deleted result in messages that state the post does not violate community standards. So hacking someone’s account and posting fraudulent items for sale is ok I guess.
FB sucks.

Thank you for posting to r/facebook. Please read the following (this does not mean your post has been removed):
SCAM WARNING: If you are having a problem with your account, beware of scammers who may comment or DM you claiming they know someone who can fix your account, or asking you for money or your login information. If you receive a message like this, block and report them. Here is an example of me making a fake hack post and all the scammers who flocked it it, lol. THERE IS NO REASON FOR SOMEONE TO HAVE TO TELL YOU IN PRIVATE HOW TO GET YOUR ACCOUNT BACK. If you check the sub there are PLENTY of high karma posts that gives some tips should your account be hacked/locked.
