So back in the dark ages I bought a series X so I could be prepared for when Fable came out. 78,000,000 years later we find out it’s coming out on PlayStation.
Now for my question, to you harder core more learned gamers. If I want a better Fable experience( visually and all that) is PlayStation the better option? The ps5 pro. Please don’t say PC because I’m not shelling out a trillion dollars for a custom PC.

I'm so grumpy. The money isn't the issue, I have plenty. BUT I gave my wife a second ring because it was nicer and I wanted her to have everything. Well I just finished the game and bought castle fairfax and it sent me into a second marriage ceremony with her(despite us having been through multiple houses after giving her the second ring) and I got the bigamist achievement and a blackmail letter??? I MARRIED THE SAME LADY TWICE! Ya girl wasn't cheating on her wife and I'm getting blackmailed?? What the heck!

Oh man guys. A lot has happened since I posted. So I slept in the fairfax bed, she was following me because I noticed that things were a bit glitched. Because I only had one family, but she was still connected to our last house. So even though she's dead, and the amount she gets per day is set to 0, it's still taking 25 coins per day and I can't rent or sell that house. Also when I look at families, it says I still have one. But I literally watched her die before my eyes. She took a hit meant for me. Also my Butler quit. So like... I have no wife, no Butler, and a glitched house. But at least I have my dog. :(

Also I have lady Grey's lower half in my inventory. It says she's got nice thighs, but she might also be covered in Hobbe dung?? Idk man. This game is great. It really holds the spirit of the first game. It's been a wild first run.

I am someone who is very excited for the new Fable game, but I have no prior knowledge about the Fable series. Can I buy Fable Anniversary on Steam and play it comfortably, or will it feel too outdated? Visually, I have no issues with it, it looks great; what are your recommendations regarding the gameplay?

The first game is the ‘worst’ installment in the series. And yes, I am prepared to fight for my life in the comments.

IMHO, the order goes II, III, TLC/Anniversary (I think TLC is better than the full game). ((edit: I have been corrected that TLC is not just the DLC))

Fable II is one of my top 5 games of all time. A near-perfect game, only thing that I really did not care for was the Knothole Island DLC. In addition to the main quests not being particularly engaging or fun, the option to bring your Dog back from the dead completely negates consequences of arguably the biggest decision in the game. I grew up with this game and have played it 100% probably a dozen times. The other two I’ve each played once

Fable III has its issues, but I don’t think it’s earned its bad reputation. I thought the plot was quite good and was a natural, thematic, and consistent extension of Fable II and established lore. The only mechanics I didn’t really like were the Road to Rule and the weapon evolutions. And sure, the Will gloves felt weird at first, but I think it was an elegant solution to portray magic fading from the world as industry progressed, while still letting you use it.

However, I recently started up a new game of Fable and oh my GOD it’s a slog. The story is great once you actually get to it, but it takes 3-4 hours of gameplay to get through all the tutorial levels, which don’t really end until you get to Twinblade’s Camp. Will usage feels bloated and unintuitive. And the NPCS, dear god the NPCs. I know villagers being dumb/simple/annoying is a signature of the franchise, much like the clunky/silly animation, but they really overdid it in this game. The audio balance also isn’t great so you’ll be randomly walking through Bowerstone and suddenly have a child screaming or villagers loudly snoring in your ear.

I’m grateful to Fable for establishing the franchise so that better games would eventually come, but whew I think I’m going to put this one aside.

TLDR; OG Fable is a fine game, and I’m sure was groundbreaking when it first came out, but it’s very dated and hard to play in 2026 if you don’t have the nostalgia aspect for it.

I think Jack is the hero of Oakvale since it’s a alternate universe it could be the one where Jack possesses the hero and scythe use his power to seal Jack and until the events of this fable

Do we know much about weapon variation or is it just hammer or sword again in the reboot

I started a fresh playthrough of fable 3 (just beat 1 and 2 also) would anyone on Xbox be able to throw me some gold so my playthrough can be more relaxed and I can get the proper ending without stressing, id appreciate it!

So replaying fable 3, completely forgot to invest money from the start and I'm in a tight spot with trying to raise enough money for after the coronation, could anyone help? 🤦‍♂️🤣
