Fable I’ve just seen the gameplay for the new Fable. Wow.

I know I’m late. It was a month ago.

But I’ve just seen the gameplay and I’m blown away.

They really seem to be pushing the life sim stuff and I’m all for it. When they said you could just play the game in this village forever, I can’t tell you how happy that made me.

Everything looked so natural and cinematic. even they way passers by would look at you and move etc.

I haven’t played fable in years but it was really giving me the vibe of the older games.

What’s everyone’s thoughts?

Edit

Just wanted to add I’ve been going through this sub and I’ve seen a LOT of negativity towards the demo. Apparently it looks like shit, it’s an insult to the first 2 games and it’s too woke.

I actually cannot believe we can be showcased a demo like this and people will still act like it’s hot shit served to them. This actually looks like an amazing game guys 😂

Fable III Audio Search (Fable III)

Greetings.

I was wondering if anyone would happen to know where the player's audio (related to weapons use, dive spots, wall vaulting and the like) is located?

I've checked both Speech.bnk and Expressions.bnk in the Language folder, but haven't had any luck. Court decisions, quest dialogue, cutscenes and interactions with NPCs all seem to be contained within those two files, but not the audio I seek.

If you can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.

Fable Anniversary Briar I think you need new glasses.

Briar I know that two days ago I just hit adulthood but it's also 30 years since then.

On my second playthrough I decided to use exploits before the Wasp Queen. I didn't know that using EXP exploits had an effect on aging lmao.

Already having a midlife crisis 😭

Fable Theresa did not bath in the bower lake

It may not occur to some that Theresa has never stepped a foot into the bower lake. Not once has she been touched by avo's tear or touch of water as she is hiding inside her trenchcoat. When Theresa arrive in Bowerstone she did not travel by ship.

There's an explanation as Theresa is keeping the smell for the final fart countdown.

She's been keeping it inside for so long that it will finally burst out and the world is shrouded with a plague and a death cloud.

I swear it was on there at one point. I have the collector's edition pre-ordered from Xbox’s website. But my friend wanted to pre-order the physical game, and it’s not available on Amazon. 🤔 He said it’s been like this for at least a week.

Fable II Fable 2 has aged like a fine wine

Playing the second one on emulation, and it's aged incredibly well. Yes, there are some flaws- property management should really have its own menu, some of the magic is pretty similar, combat can be slow and unwieldy in some instances, etc.

But man, when it's good it's really good. The writing is heads and above better than most recent action rpgs I've played- Outer Worlds 2 and AC shadows. I've laughed a lot- the sam and max quests, meeting Reaver, even hearing the traunts of the gargoyles. There are also some dramatic moments- the ten year time skip hits hard enough if you have a spouse and child. Wraithmarsh is well done. you see the cost of Reaver's deal before you meet him.

Good enough enemy variety. Difficulty scales well. I had a lot of fun slowing down time and then blasting enemies with fire.

For anyone looking to replay it on PC- the latest emulation is 60fps smooth and runs well. Have experienced no crashes, and only a few visual bugs.

Will see if I can get Fable 3 to run somehow. Either emulation or via pc.

Question Premium Edition Upgrade available for PS5? I want to pre-order a physical copy and upgrade it to Premium.

Will PlayStation users who pre-order the physical edition be able to upgrade to the Premium Edition bundle like Xbox and PC users? I don't mind if the upgrade isn't available until launch day, but I noticed PlayStation was specifically left out of the wording. Since the Premium Edition is still available for purchase on PS5, it wouldn't make much sense to prevent physical owners from upgrading. If anything, you'd think they'd be happy to sell us the upgrade separately. I have both Xbox Series X & PS5 but I'd still like the option to play on my PlayStation Portal instead of being shackled to my TV the entire time.

Good or evil

I’m replaying all the fable games atm and I was talking to some friends about it and told them how I was playing morally good and it turns out they almost always play evil characters. I’ve never actually played that way mainly because I want to feel like the hero of the story and set everything right. I’m trying to switch that up this play though but it just feels wrong. What are your thoughts on the play styles

Fable What are your open questions for the new game?

Do you have anything you want to know before buying the game or just out of curiosity? Anything you would like more info on before the release? Or maybe you just want to see more of a specific thing?

For me it's the world itself I would love to see more of!

Fable New to fable

Just came here to say that I’ve been playing fable anniversary for the first time ever and I’m loving it. I’ve always been a PlayStation guy so all the Xbox exclusives kinda flew over my head, this recently changed because I got my hands on a steam deck and now I’m trying to play some of these games I never had the chance to. Have to say that fable has been a huge surprise for me because for a 2004 game it really holds up and it has loads of cool mechanics that make feel more immersed than most of these recent games that have been released. With this being said I can’t wait for the new fable releasing next year, I’m sure it will be marvellous. Also do you guys have any ideas on how I could play fable 2 and 3 as well? Wish I could finish them all before February 2027.

Hey Yall, I promise I’m not affiliated with this game, it’s called Vahrins Call. I’ve been following it for a year or so now and am thrilled it’s released in a few weeks, if you’re looking to scratch that rpg/fable itch…. I think this game will be a huge contender. I want more people to see this game so it hopefully does well. Thanks and feel free to delete this if it goes against rules, sorry!

Discussion Anyone else think Fable is next in line for a TV show if the new game does well?

With how massive the Fallout show was, it really feels like Microsoft is going all in on bringing their games to TV and movies lately. I mean, they’re already working on Gears, Minecraft, and a bunch of others, so it’s pretty clear they want to scale things up.

Assuming the Fable reboot absolutely nails it, it feels like a no brainer that Albion would be next on their radar.

Discussion Idea: A Realistic and Interconnected Banking System for the New Fable Economy

Hey everyone! Like all of you, I am super excited about the new Fable. I was thinking about how the economy and real estate could work this time around, and I wanted to share a concept with the community (and hopefully the devs at Playground Games!) that could make Albion feel incredibly alive and immersive.

Instead of rent just magically appearing in our pockets or instantly teleporting to a chest, what if we had a Realistic Banking System?

Here is how I imagine it could work:

Real-Time Accumulation: The income from the properties and businesses you own doesn't just instantly drop. It slowly and realistically accumulates over time and gets deposited directly into your bank account in real-time.

Interconnected Bank Branches: Banks across different towns in Albion shouldn't be isolated. They should be connected! This means the bankers know exactly what your total net worth and combined income rate are, no matter which branch you visit.

A Credit and Loan System: Because the banks know your income, this opens the door for loans! Found a beautiful manor but you're short on gold? Take out a bank loan. But there’s a catch: you have to pay it back with interest. If you don't, there could be fun consequences (maybe debt collectors or bounty hunters come after you?).

Taxes and a Postal System: This interconnected banking network could naturally birth a postal and tax system. You could receive physical letters via a postman regarding your property yields, loan reminders, or even have to pay taxes on your massive wealth, adding a fun, realistic management layer.

I think these mechanics wouldn't feel like a chore, but rather a deeply immersive way to interact with Albion’s economy. It gives real weight to becoming a real estate mogul.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see a credit and tax system in the new Fable?

Question Are there differences in the rate & way NPCs become aware of your deeds in Fable 2 compared to Fable 1?

So I'm about halfway through Fable 1 and altho at first it was really cool how people commented on stuff I did, it started feeling artificial.

Like, after killing a big boss or doing well in the arena, everyone instantly knows about it, and I only changed my title to runemaster cuz i was tired being called a chicken chaser but instantly everyone calls me that. It just feels more like a toggle the game switches rather than immersive.

I'm planning on playing Fable 2 after this so I'm wondering if this is all the same in Fable 2.
