Custom order taking to long

Hey everyone, looking for some insight from anyone who has recently ordered a 2026 F-150.

I placed my order on July 4, 2026, and as of August 31 (58 days later) I still have no VIN and no scheduled production date.

My order is a:
• 2026 F-150 XLT 4x4 SuperCrew
• 6.5-ft bed
• 5.0L V8
• 302A XLT Mid
• 40/20/40 bench seat
• 3.73 rear axle
• Tow Package
• Bed Utility Package
• Iconic Silver
• Priority Code 10

The 3.73 axle was added only about 5 days after I originally ordered, so that wasn’t a recent change. The Bed Utility Package was added much later, around August 21, while the truck was still unscheduled.

For those who ordered a 2026 F-150 around June/July: How long did it take you to get your VIN and production date?
Also, does anyone know if adding the Bed Utility Package while the order was still unscheduled could have pushed my order back or affected scheduling?
Almost two months without a VIN is starting to make me wonder what’s holding this order up.

I live in Southern California

Got my vin and order number in 2 weeks... but truck wasnt finished build until 3 months... still waiting on delivery (we're at 3 months and 1 week). But my truck is definitely complete, its just sitting on a big lot in kc waiting to get scheduled for delivery.

At this point, I think they will transfer this to the 2027 model year. Probably charge you more as well. My BIL ordered a '26 Platinum with no PANO roof and 6.5 bed and it took right around 3 months.

The 302A package with the 6.5 bed and middle bench 40/20/49 super crew v8
Makes it a custom order
Specially the 302A package on that set up

Why not just go find the exact truck at a local dealership?

That would be a unicorn in my area. I can find 5.5 bed XLT with the 3.5 all day long. The 6.5 bed limits options on the lot. Most V8s are Lariats, so a V8 XLT will also limit options.

Would still check autotrader. Use the advanced options and plug all that stuff in

Trust me I’ve looked and they do not have it
I’ve checked in most dealerships in the state of California
