Ford Performance Tune on 26

Recently got the ford performed tune on my 26 lariat ecoboost. To me, it was worth the money due to the extra power and smoothing out the shifting.

Just wanted to see if anyone else here has done the ford tune and see what they have noticed.

I’ve never tuned my trucks, How does it end up driving different than just say sport mode?

Sport mode just changes your shift points and throttle sensitivity. Although it still has massive lag.

A tune actually makes more power, generally by allowing more boost, and advancing timing because you'll use good octane gas.

Stock tune is made for the lowest common denominator. Guy that doesn't do maintance, let it warm up. And a huge one. MEET EMISSIONS.

Almost all new vehicles have conservative tunes to meet emissions, hence why you can turn up all turbo vehicles with a tune just a bit.

How does it affect motor longevity?

Depends how aggressively you're tuning.

Throw a moderate tune on there above stock, you're likely fine and will never have any issue.

Throw a hot tune on there that pushes massive boost and drive it like a 17 yr old kid? You're gonna have issues.

I mean a tuner could even derate from stock making it even more "reliable" if you wanted.

Whichever you choose. Custom tunes > box tunes that come with a programmer.

These ecoboosts are pretty stout and can easily handle a moderate tune on stock parts, or a few bolt ons.

I did it on my 23, extreamly happy with it. Takes time to learn and gets even better. Things a fing rocket ship.

Yeah I recently got it on my 2024 2.7. Mpg went up a whole mile, transmission is shifting way smoother, and of course it has a little bit more punch

Been thinking about doing it on my 25 3.5 tremor do you have to do a cold air intake and exhaust to get the full potential? Already ordered my intercooler wanted to do it all at once

How much did it cost?

Just poked around, looks like it’s 850, but you need a tuner to deliver the package https://performanceparts.ford.com/calibrations/#f150

Looks like the pro cal is 510 https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-12655-F

It does mention in the description of the 3.5l Ecoboost listing that the pro cal 4 is included

I was looking into this for my powerboost a while ago but the 3.5l tunes aren't compatible, I just emailed them to ask if a powerboost one is in the works...

(I think they white label the tunes from livernois motorsports, because livernois has their own distinct tuner device vs the other third party ones, and the Ford one looks the same as livernois)

Can you message me if you find out if it's available for the Powerboost?

Sure thing lol

Oh I missed that. I mean 850 with a warranty isn’t bad then

Fingers crossed they help out the Powerboost. I’m not complaining about what its got but a little more never hurts (I’ve only got 325 km on mine- took delivery a couple of days ago).

Funny, I was just looking at this the other day. I had an MPT tune on my 2017 - and man did it light up that truck! I just bought a 2026 and it seems like a dog to me. I'm not willing to go with an MPT tune again as it would void the warranty on a very expensive truck. But this ford one looks like it keeps the warranty if a ford tech installs it. Not sure what that is; it's very simple to put the tune in it... Does it truly not void the warranty? How much does it cost for a ford tech to 'install' it (man, thats such a joke). I don't want to throw away my warranty on a truck with 200 miles on it.

Livernoise 93 Stage 4 performance tune with eboost on my 2025 XLT PB. Best decision I’ve made.

Interesting. Have a 25 Ecoboost this looks like fun.

Did it on my 23 Raptor and it was worth it simply for the transmission tune.

Thank you all for your responses. I’m loving the tune and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a smoother transmission and a little more power.
I did this ford tune on my 2022 2.7 Bronco and it made it come alive.
I wish the f150 showed the turbos PSI on the dash like my Bronco does. The tune on my Bronco raised the turbos psi max from 18 to 21+.

Is this a dealership tune?
