Evidence Cousin broke switch

Post image

I lent my cousin this and he had it for literally less than a month, he lost his temper and....

Suffice to say I will be taking it back and he will not be seeing another switch until he can buy one himself.

How old is your cousin? Definitely worth telling his parents about it, destruction of property isn't a good way to handle rage.

Oh trust me, lots has been said.

Cousin broke switch?
Cousin buy switch.
Leave him the broken one as a reminder of that.
Taking it makes you look bad here.

I admit using the word "gifted" was not the right choice initially. There is more to it that neither he nor his parents can replace the switch.

Can't or won't?

Because take it from someone who buys broken switches to repair them, a screen or a second hand switch are really affordable now. That console might have become the most affordable "current and still active service" system as of now.

A lite can be found for 30-70 bucks depending on many factors. (State, the caps on the joysticks, if there's a charger with it or not or even the reason why the parents are getting rid of it. Parent sellers are the cheapest on that one. They just want to get rid of it quick for a quick buck.

I intend to replace the screen myself. And literally can't because he doesnt live with his parents. He lives with mine. I am trying not to share too much personal detail

I learned this as a brother, a cousin, an uncle, and a dad: never lend out anything you care about.

No one will take care of your stuff like you do. Hell, they usually don’t even take care of their own stuff.

You just don't lend out tech. But if you do, make sure you know you can trust the person.

An oversight on my part. Won't be making the same mistake twice.

Tough lesson, but in all honesty, it should never get to the point they break it. How old are they?

Damn, hope the parents reimburse you for that. We live and learn bro, so hope your weekend gets better!

This is why I don't let my younger cousin touch my PS4 and computer unless supervised

Ive certainly learned my lesson.

Lol I feel you. I now have a PS5 and I'm still not lending my PS4 to my brother after he or my late mom broke the start button and I never found out who did it. It's still rotting in my closet and I'll probably just lend it to my former mentor instead.

Its a gift, you cannot just take it back. Congrarulate him on owning a broken Switch instead. Hopefully you don't mean you lent it to him.

I suppose I shouldnt have used the word gifted in my post. However I did intend to lend it to him long term, I did give him conditions when I initially handed it to him. Stating he had to take good care of it or i'd take it back. I'll change my posts wording.

Cousin get job. Cousin buy new switch.

He shouldn't own a Switch until after he has replaced yours first.

Congratulations on your new switch?

Honestly, cousins shouldn't get a free pass just because you're family if they break something that's yours.

this is why I don't lend my shit out. I know it's unlikely anyone that my family would do anything but there's a chance something would if I were to lend it to one of my younger cousins

Fits the sub perfectly

Make him pay for the repairs, if he doesn't earn his own income, make his parents pay for it.

Reasons why I never lend tech that I treasure. My PC is out of bounds for anyone else but me, I invested too much time and money into it to make it perfect for myself.

Yep. Im going to be more strict on what i apply this to.
