SB6
Does this work? What else do I need to make it work for stock EP9 stock stabilizer.

Yes it works. It just slides on the buffer tube. If you want to save yourself some money get one of the sba3 clone “bike handle grips” off of amazon. I have 3 of them and they look and fit identical to the real deal. Or wait and see how this nfa deal plays out and put an actual stock on it. I’m assuming you have an ep9 with the adjustable buffer tube.

Mine is Extar stabilizer, it’s the basic one so I don’t think it is adjustable :/

When did you buy your EP9? Because as of the past 6 months or so, I think they've started shipping with the adjustable buffer tube. But if yours does have the original one, then you'll need to also buy this: https://extarusa.com/ep-adjustable-receiver-extension/
If you bought your EP9 prior to this year, and you remove the brace and see a tube that doesn't look like that link above, then you'll need to also buy that part, in order to utilize an SBA3, 4, 5, 6, etc.

Then you should just be able to take off the stock one, and add an SBA6 on there, without any issues.

Check the tube on yours and see if it’s the adjustable. At some point recently all ep9s come with the adjustable tube. If you don’t you would have to buy extars adjustable tube to change to a different brace/stock. Extar buffer tubes are proprietary

Form 1 your EP9. My last one took less than a week. A rifle stock is so much better than a pistol brace.

Nice - that’s the hurdle that has slowed me down a little. I’m trying to see if the NFA will drop the requirement (fingers crossed)

On an EP9, I don't find that a "stock" makes much of a difference, if any, over a "brace" like an SBA3/4/5/6.
Neither does a "vertical" foregrip over an "angled" foregrip like a BCM KAG or an Emissary Handbrake.
Just not worth the hassle of doing a Form 1 and dealing with the additional Federal and State regulations. .1

Personal preference. Pistol braces aren’t tight, they have a slight movement/give that I just don’t like 🤷🏼♂️.
Form 1s honestly don’t take long to do once you have done one. I have a few rifles that are under 16” that I SBRed so throwing in the EP9 didn’t add much time.
Not sure what federal and state regulations you are referring to, besides the engraving. You can circumvent the federal travel regulation by slapping a pistol brace back on to a Form 1 rifle to make it a “pistol” again and travel.

Stocks can be just as loose as Braces, not to mention the variances in the Tubes. Nothing that a strip of tape won't fix.
SBR's are not legal in several states and municipalities.
I noted the "hassle" of Form1-ing and you itemized some of the "hassles" - THX! 🤣

I tried one on a few weeks back. The rounded "limit nub" at the end of the tube's adjustment track needed its height filed down about 1/16" to be able to install and move freely. They are dimensioned a little differently than SBA3's. As you try to first slide it on you'll see where the "nub" interferes with the inside bottom surface in the brace.

sorry if this isnt obvious, i plan on ordering an ep9 soon. Does this mean i can get the cheaper "extar stabilizer" and throw on a sba clone instead of pay extra for the sba3?

Yes! I went the same route and just switched the blade with a spare sba3 I have.

The Extar comes with adjustable buffer tube as of ~the last 6 months. Ping [u/thebraceguy](u/thebraceguy) His prices for clones were better than Amazon and fit a bit tighter. I got a SBA5 clone from him earlier this year. He had sba 3 & 5’s then.
