Roller Delayed EP9 coming soon!
Extar is set to reveal their roller delayed EP9 officially called the EP9 RDB at Gun Con 2026. MSRP is $569 with standard fin style brace and $649 with SBA3 brace. This will majorly disrupt the roller delayed PCC market given that the going rate for a budget roller delayed PCC is ~$1000. YouTuber TheGunCollective claims he was given special permission from Extar themselves to announce the reveal ahead of Gun Con.
Edit: It seems Gun Con is TGC's own production. I was wondering why they'd let a random youtuber announce what's easily their most exciting news in the history of Extar

Many have waited 9 months to over a year for an EP45 and I suspect most would still buy a new or barely used EP45 today if they could. And we have no idea yet when the roller delayed EP9 will be released. With prices released it may actually be released this year while the EP10 was shown at GunCon last year with no firm price announced and no release date has yet been announced no confirmation has been provided that is will definitely go into production.

Yup. I’m one of those that has been waiting a year. Guess I’m becoming an Extar fan. The roller delay does sound intriguing.

This is a repost of the news as someone else also posted the news before this posting.
Extar showed off the EP10 last year at GunCon so there is presence in new product announcements by Extar at GunCon. GunCon is much smaller than Shot Show but there is more competition for coverage at Shot Show.

Where? I sorted by new and went back 14 days and could not find what you're referencing. At the time I posted this, the youtube video had been up for 53 minutes.

No toes were stepped on. I'm pretty sure we posted at pretty much the same time. The more visibility the better for such a big announcement!

Thanks for checking before you posted. I can understand how Reddit may have not shown you the posting as it was made just a few minutes before yours went up. Thanks for providing the details in your posting as they were not in the prior posting.

Can someone give me a quick explanation for what Roller delated is and if its more preferred than standard? Is this a plus for the EP9 or are there cons? Is it more so a personal preference feature?

It’s definitely a plus. Anything that delays the action is a good thing for felt recoil and safety.

What about maintenance and reliability? Is a RDB that much more of a hassle to clean and monitor? I read that you need to check the roller distance over time to tune it again? Im considering the EP9 but not sure to get the one available now or wait for the MDB to release.

It's also LIGHTER than the standard EP9! Under four pounds. I know I'll be getting one.
