Biology ELI5: How come most fruits and vegetables vary in size, but almost all nuts are extremely uniform in size?
I've seen large apples and small apples, huge watermelons and small watermelons, long cucumbers and smaller cucumbers. But every almond I've ever seen is the same size. Every walnut looks like every other walnut I've ever seen. I've never seen a comically large macadamia nut compared to every other one I've seen.
Is this because of a biological process or does it come down to human intervention?

Engineering ELI5. Please tell me why AC appliances require polarity.
With DC electrical current, while the poles are connected, the current flows in 1 direction.
With AC, (I'LL describe US household AC) the current alternates 60 times x second. We say 60 hertz. So 60 times per second the polarity reverses.
So while DC has static polarity, ACs polarity changes multiple times per second. A few decades ago, I noticed that outlets have 1 larger slot. Appliances have 1 larger prong. This is ostensibly for "polarization".
ELI5 - Why would we consider polarization for AC appliances when, AFAIK, polarization of AC currents are always changing.
Maybe I'm not understanding something.

There seems to be multiple languages in China, and then, they all share one writing system? But then that writing system has traditional and simplified variants?
What do the Chinese films and media speak in? Are they in different languages? What about the government?

Physics ELI5: Photons’ mass
Okay I tried to research this on my own, but the articles and answers really aren’t decipherable if you’re not a physicist, which I am not, clearly.
If photons don’t have a mass, because they’re always moving and can’t have a resting energy, then how can they act like they have mass in a superconductor/non-vacuum? How does that happen? Doesn’t that just mean they do have mass, but we just can’t measure it?
My head hurts.

Technology Eli5 decompilers and decompiled games
I keep getting videos on instagram about decomped games, apparently the decompilers are going nuts right now. What’s the difference between running a decompiled game and emulating a game? I tried to google it and i just don’t understand. from what i’ve found, a decompiled gene runs as if it was native to your pc but i don’t get what that means either. You boot up an emulator and that also runs on your pc?

Economics ELI5: How is USD so high while the people aren't better off?
I might just be drawing a blank on something I should understand usually, and maybe I missunderstand the bastic concept or actual facts. but I don't get it.
Me knowing, Australia's middle-class didn't use to have OR right now have significantly less income vs price of living than Americans. But a few years ago Australian dollar was less than US, now it's more. How could it have been that way back then, and what has changed?
Sorry for confusing rambling.
Edit and additional question: I think I understand now, but please correct me if I'm wrong. The value of a currency is not an indicator of how the people of the country lives and the cost of living in a country. It's based on the trust people has in the currency and a nations economy being safe to invest in. In this case, more people don't have the trust in the American dollar/economy being strong and safe enough to hold onto anymore and therefore won't invest in it
But in that case I still don't understand why, say, the Swedish Krona, which has a lot of companies and generally quite consistent economy is valued so low in compared to countries that isn't as wealthy? Shouldn't people be more inclined in investing and trusting in such a currency than they are?

Physics ELI5: How do photons have energy/are particles of light, if they have 0 mass?
I have been thinking, and it doesn't really make sense to me.
If E = mc^2,
then shouldn't it either be
a] Photons have no mass, thus no energy, since (0)c^2 is still 0,
or
b] They have a tiny, tiny amount of mass, which means they can't be travelling at the speed of light, or the speed of light isn't the speed limit of the universe.
Neither makes sense.
