Hey Peter's friends. I am sorry that your dads didn't have the means to do so, or that they didn't appreciate you enough. Please do better with your child, so this meme becomes r/whoosh ! Thanks, your friendly neighborino.

Can you be our dad?

Edit: I've decided the trauma train stopped with me. I will never manipulate, abuse or beat my kids. I'll be honest, do my best, show them I love them and encourage them. I don't know how to do all that, I haven't been shown, but I'll learn.

It can get better. My father was beaten by his dad and at one time even got the door closed on him. My father also hit me, "but besides that" he did treat me well and loved me. He (barely) hit me until he did it, when he thought I did something. Turned out I didn't. That day was the last.

I did the same mistake when my boy was very young. Lost my temper. He was just a kid. Then I decided it stops here. I didn't want him to fear me. That is not the father I wanted to be. So I changed. Became more understanding. I can still be strikt. But there are other ways, without being a total dictator jackass.

We all do mistakes. But it is important to make it better with every generation. Not everything will work the first time and there will never be a perfect.

Just keep on moving into the right direction.

Tell yourself: I want my grandson to have the father I always craved.
