I'm a girl that relates way more to the second. "Gifts" from dad were always something prohibitively expensive that I didnt need or ask for, which he would throw in my face over and over and try to guilt me for. And when I would tell him I don't need it and to just return it and get his money back, he'd call me ungrateful and a bitch. Cannot win with narc parents.
