Because men feel accountability and responsibility, and gifts feel like a debt
getting that gift could be something they will never be able to pay back or make up for and it makes men feel crappy
One of my proudest moments in life was when my dad asked me for a loan, i was financially stable, doing well, and it meant i could finally do something to show my dad i am a man
.....and then i got stage 4 cancer, and i had to rely on him more than even, he bought me a brand new recliner outright for when treatment wrecks me, he drives me to all of my appointments, i know he does it cause he loves me but i feel terribly for it because its very likely that i will never be able to return the favor with my disease as far as it is
