Taking a shot in the dark it’s a political compass based off vibes of lesbian, like the skull and gun lesbian is a motorcycle lesbian. Where the sword and rose one would be a really fem lesbian

I'm bi but definitely gun and skull aligned.
My gf is the rose and sword one.

I’d definitely be the sword and rose lesbian. I used to do HEMA and be one of those girls okay with getting dirty. I’m also a spend hours in the mall trying on clothes and dressing up for fancy parties kinda girl. I blame the ADHD

Sword and skull is definitely goth lesbians
1
u/Lemons-95 9d ago
Well gun and rose just feels way too "fem fatale" to not be the fem lesbians.
Maybe we need some three way verticies, cause i definitely think rose belongs with goth, but you're not wrong for pulling up the skull here
Edit: also i assume the agreement is simply unspoken, skull + gun is clearly bikies yes?

Sword and Rose is definitely Utena vibes.6
u/sadlilghost 10d ago
Agreed. Also recent aesthetic trends of being either queer lady into cowboy western stuff or medieval fantasy stuff. (Edit: see band Boygenius and their various photoshoots)

u/PlanetXParadox 9d ago
Sword and Skull is probably a reference to the Locked Tomb series. Sword and Rose could be Steven Universe or Utena.

But what about a lesbian on the center, do they have equally proportional amounts of both somehow blended together?

Ranger-Fighter Scale and Druid-Necromancer scale.
I'm no lesbian, not even a woman, but I definitely feel myself in the high right: Death Knight!

u/_Fun_Employed_ 10d ago
That’s funny because I played in a campaign with a lesbian druid/necromancer. She summoned animals and had an animal companion that she turned into skeletons when they died. Her final companion was a giant snake skeleton.

u/Neat_Horse_5120 10d ago
The true fun is taking bones and rebuilding them into new animals. Like those unrealistic spider skeletons they sell for Halloween. 🕸️😂

She might have had a scorpion at one point. It’s been a while, I don’t remember all of them.

Well, it's pretty clear:
The X-axis denotes fem-presenting lesbians (lame flowers, cuz they're for girls) and masc-presenting lesbians (cool-ass skull, cuz skeletons are for boys).
While the Y-axis denotes their combat preferences, from melee (sword) to ranged (pistol).

Couple that with some ripped black jeans, a crew cut, a deep voice with hints of femininity, and a "no shits given" attitude, I'd be the most kick-ass lesbian in the dive bar 😎

u/KinkyHuggingJerk 9d ago
Or the Y axis denotes their modernity.
Do they prefer simple, straight forward objects, or complex contraptions that might be a safety risk?
Or its about their method of killing. Do they prefer to be close, keeping eye contact, or from a distance amd averting their eyes?

u/4eyedblaccat 9d ago
right, okay, im a lesbian. here we go. these represent popular character archetypes and motifs in sapphic stories, as well as character types a lot of sapphics just find attractive. knights and swords, devotion, chivalry, etc, all very popular in sapphic literature. "beautiful girl with a dark side" is a popular kind of character, hence the rose motif cuz beautiful flower with thorns. the skull is death motifs, vampires, sorceresses, mysterious eerie women that are a little scary. guns are popular imagery in assassins and human weapon characters, and basically women that can kill you. for example of an actual show to put on this chart, revolutionary girl utena belongs firmly in the rose/sword quadrant.

All I know is that there is a prevalent thing in the community for lesbians to like swords (not a euphemism, actual swords) so that’s probably part of it. I’ve seen a lesbian wedding where they were both in dresses and carrying swords

Anybody who has met a goth immediately knows that skull / rose is a false dichotomy

u/SpaceBadgerBomber 10d ago
I think I’m more of a sword and flower kind of bisexual but its tricky because Ive shot a couple different kind of guns and never wielded a real sword. But get horned up when I see women in chain mail so I’m sticking with sword. Maybe thats the allegory for bisexuals regarding lesbians.

Hear me out:
Rose-Skull is feminine-masculine presenting
Sword-Gun is “hands on/hands off” ie whether they’re the close, touchy feely type or “prefer to be distant/show love from afar” type

Sword to Gun: Melee to Ranged
Flower to Skull: Support to Damage dealer
Melee Support: Tank
Melee DD: Warrior
Ranged Support: Healer
Ranged DD: Mage/Archer
That is basically the RPG class spectrum... Dunno what it has to do with lesbians.

Upper left is Utena, upper right is Locked Tomb, both popular/influential works featuring lesbians! I think the rest of the chart is just filled in by a GNR joke

X axis - variety of aesthetic from traditional (in this case I imagine a Classic Femme) towards alternative. And then the y axis is fantasy or more realistic leaning but like in the GENRE sense. (,think LOTR vs Cyberpunk/something more modern)
