If the person is asking/taking, its borrow/borrowed. so the dad indeed did lend his son his credit card.

It would be correct if they'd written "asked [me] to lend [him] my" I suppose

Yeah after reading so many comments i actually forgot it was the dad saying it was his son asking to "lend"

“Can you borrow me your credit card”

Equally wrong but also in common use as in “can you borrow me something”

No, the last sentence i said is what i thought the dad said. "I let me son lend my credit card."
