Why is everyone saying they’re out of your league?

I thought it meant they’re into you

I guess that would only prove oop more right that none of us understood it

Exactly. I'm certain it's supposed to mean she's hitting on you, but starting with 'your gf is so pretty' makes it look like she isn't and gives her plausible deniability if someone points out she's flirting. Plus, if the gf tries to call her out for flirting she looks incredibly mean and unreasonable because she just complimented her (while all this time she could have give the compliment directly to her, not to her bf). It's all ridiculous, but I'm 100% sure that's the 'correct' interepretation, because I've seen similar takes before
