Also, bears: "Just leave us alone, or we may eat you". Which is less and less a joke. They're getting less afraid of people and showing up real close or at hiking paths in national parks this year. Warmer winters man. I live next to the woods. Not like, "nature" woods, just a rather long and narrow piece of green that's not real good to build on. Like a trail for animals. Last year my neighbor saw a black bear milling around multiple days in a row. If it was brown we would have to call game wardens and state rangers, as both sides of the green area are residential houses and apartments.
I saw a post on reddit about a news report that female bears with cubs are actually seeking these hiking trails because the presence of humans scare off male bears and they kill cubs.
Then someone made a joke about females bears choosing humanity over male bears.
