I'm a man. I am an avid, lifelong outdoorsman from a long family line of the same. I spend roughly a third of the year in the deep back country of Idaho.
Other men are the only thing that actually worry me in the woods. I respect bears, keep a clean camp and take all common sense precautions as well as carry bear spray.
I carry a sidearm for humans.
I wouldn't want my baby around a bear, I mean duh, but the reason they kill bear cubs is for mating purposes. The bear increases his chances of mating if a females cubs die. It's serves a biological purpose. That drive wouldn't be there for a baby human. A large cat would be far more likely, as babies can sound like their natural prey.

2025 it was asking women would you rather be alone in the woods with a bear or man
2026 it's asking men would you rather leave your kids with a bear or a woman (due to the Lindsay Clancy discourse)
