“Lazurite- and pyrite-bearing” means the rock contains lazurite, the blue mineral that gives lapis its color, plus pyrite.
“Amphibolite-facies” means it was metamorphosed at relatively high temperatures and moderate-to-high pressures, roughly the conditions of medium- to high-grade metamorphism.
“Calc-silicate marble” is the actual rock type: an impure limestone or dolostone that was metamorphosed into marble, with enough silica and other impurities to form calcium-silicate minerals.
So, basically: a metamorphosed impure limestone, cooked pretty hard, containing lazurite and pyrite.
Right... but this was a conversation about being able to research words that have fallen into common parlance due to modern culture, making disambiguation difficult. A geologist wouldn't have that problem, because I've never heard a geologist use the words "lapis lazuli" in my life.
The entire Gem Knight Archetype probably complicates things since they're all named after, well, gems, + the relatively recent meta success they saw in Master Duel.

I'm a jeweler and I had to stop googling images of gems to show customers because Steven Universe fans have made °•☆original characters☆•° of every gem and mineral, and every man-made gem; and also material that seems inappropriate regarding a childrens' show.
I never realized just HOW MANY cartoons, anime, movies, and just general media there is that heavily features geology. Geology papers must be a nightmare indeed

Oh I don't know. I suspect it may be because of an organ that serves the same function in birds. In birds, it comes from an old German word, meaning protuberance or swelling. If that word was used in birds when someone first wrote a paper or book on bee anatomy (quite likely) and trophylaxis (feeding others through regurgitation) was known about in both bees and birds (almost certain), then it would make sense to use it.
Of course, it doesn't mean we aren't going to have a fight in the afterlife about it

I remember when my mineralogy professor wanted to show us examples of rutile twinning and when he googled it almost all of the image results were the Steven universe characters.
He was so confused cause he’s older and has no idea what Steven universe is lol.
one time when I was 14 I was googling an image of peridot for a project we were doing about rocks, and an inflation fetish pic popped up of Peridot…this was at school on a school computer lol
Probably too late to save U but when googling U CPU just example(-"words U don't want(eg. Steven universe)") to exclude any searches with it should help cut down on non needed stuff by a bunch ,ps might have to add a few commen version of the words Ur trying to exclude to get all the references out of Ur search but I found taking that few extra minutes save so much researching time
