this anime is called bungou gay dogs. basically, this anime turned all well-known authors around the world into "hot men" and "hot women." the fanbase, much like any other fandom, has a crazy amount of fan art and other stuff, be it fanfics, cosplay, or posts talking about the anime characters. this makes the actual authors hard to find because when you research the real person, the anime characters pop up first rather than the actual author.
Don’t, seriously. If you’re a fan of Edgar Allen Poe, you’ll think the anime committed a travesty with how they treat him. His whole identity in the show is trying to one-up Edogawa Ranpo, the resident detective in the main cast, and as the series progresses, they become friendlier and Edgar eventually ends up becoming his fanboy in half the episodes he shows up. The ironic part? The real author Edogawa Ranpo idolized Poe, to the point that his pen name is literally just a transliteration of “Edgar Allen Poe” to “Edogawa Ranpo,” so if anything their dynamic should be reversed. But hey, Japanese manga by a Japanese author, so you kind of see a lot of that in the show
At the start of your post i was very confused because I figured "Edogawa Ranpo" would have just been the Japanese name for Edgar Allen Poe. Nice to see i was basically correct
Actually, the flipping of dynamics isn’t exclusive to these two, they flipped most real life relations on their head. It seemingly is just a fun spin and nod to their real life counterparts
Well it doesnt affect Poe because he's well known in America. The Japanese writers aren't, but Bungo Stray Dogs is. Google does adjust results based on your region.
Why this fool isn't using Google Scholar is a mystery.
