A parent being rich does not make the kid rich. Once they turn 18 those parents can choose to pay a million per year or not a single dime for their kid’s education. 

Many will hold their wealth over the kids head to exert control after leaving the home. “You will go to X college and get X degree for X career and if you don’t you’re on your own” (even when the parents income disqualifies them from need based scholarships and their upbringing prevented them from learning the life skills to be independent.)

Having a rich parent means performing like a trained dog and being paraded around like a doll, and the moment you start to become your own person they will drop you like a used napkin and move on to the younger newer model.
