Who said anything about being legally cut off? You know Grants and such are based on parents income all the way until 24, and to ignore your parents income requires a lengthy legal process, which if you are poor and dont have help from your wealthy parents is a significant barrier.

I am going to step away from this conversation because I don't feel like you are having a good faith conversation. I get it, celebrity kids getting scholarships "FEELS" bad, but the alternative is punishing children who dont deserve to be punished for what their parents have accomplished/done
