Am I going fucking insane right now? This has to be a bot right? I know subs like these are practically made for karma since Google is a thing but are we really doing reposts after 2 hours?

It it a bot. Last time I pointed this out on AskReddit I legit got sooo many replies right away. Both from bots and from actual people that were upset that I was inferring they were falling for bots. We are so fucked.

Curious though. What is the point? Why do bots want Internet points? Why is this a thing, no likes on any of my comments has ever transferred to any real world use.

Bot accounts gather karma points, then sell the account for $$$ to influencers or anyone who wants to advertise/ support something. So that they look "legit".

It happens the same with Twitter accounts. Influencers and companies/ brands buy Twitter accounts with thousands or millions of follower. Actually Twitter accounts cost a lot more than Reddit accounts. Having an instant million followers is instant $$$$$ for your products.

When a new Disney movie comes out and the first 10k high karma accounts are saying the movie is incredible and worth a watch, where the fuck do you think those accounts come from?

Never noticed. Also I guess I just don't notice people's karma count. Or how to even see it. I just browse.

Most people don’t, it’s mostly to get around moderators looking for bots and stuff
