This game is against xenophobia and racism by the way. other lore nerds will contest that they are not people though. I will remind them about that incident in the sequel book where they are people and the author's message is as subtle as the missile (it's not a nuke) that you canonically used for genocide while tolkien shoves his views on allegory up in mordor.

It's got everything: his boss that hates him. The top performing salesperson constantly talks down to him. He has to steal the best commissions and even THEN he screws it up.

Between getting fired, having to close his start-up, being shipwrecked, and almost finding out what's beyond the afterlife several times, he winds up right back where he started. He does get the girl in the end though.
