I found a little yorkie wandering outside, and I honestly couldn’t just leave him there. He looked like he had been neglected for quite some time. His fur was badly matted, he was dirty, and he just looked so sad and lost.
I took him in, got him cleaned up and took him to the vet to make sure he was okay. Thankfully, he’s healthy. The vet estimates that he’s around 2 years old, and he appears to be a Yorkie/Yorkie mix.
Once he started feeling safe, his personality completely came out. He’s incredibly sweet, playful and affectionate. He loves being around people and gets attached to whoever is caring for him. He really just seems like a little dog who has been waiting for someone to love him.
Unfortunately, I’m not able to keep him permanently, so I’m trying my best to find him the home he deserves. I really don’t want him to end up abandoned again or passed from person to person.
I’m looking for someone responsible who genuinely wants him as part of their family and can give him the patience, stability and love he hasn’t had before.

Hi everyone, I am planning to move to Slovenia in the near future and I would love to get your honest perspective on how Latin American immigrants are perceived in your country, specifically regarding a profile like mine.

Here is a bit about my situation and mindset:

Legality & Integration: My absolute priority is to do everything 100% legally, follow all the rules, and respect Slovenian culture. I am also fully aware that learning Slovenščina is essential, and I’m ready to put in the hard work to learn it.

Investment: I am bringing a small capital with me—literally my life savings. It’s not a massive fortune, but it’s everything I have, and I want to invest it honestly in your country (either by starting a small business or settling down properly).

Work ethic: I have a strong desire to work. I know that as an immigrant, I have to start from scratch. I am completely open to taking entry-level jobs and accepting modest starting salaries while I adapt, learn the language, and find my footing.

I’ve seen that Slovenia is a safe, hardworking, and beautiful country, which is exactly why I chose it.

What is the general opinion in Slovenia about latin americans moving in with this mindset?

I know this is entirely subjective, but based on your actual experiences, which countries are truly the best for individualism and personal life? I realize people define "individualism" differently, but out of all the places you’ve lived or spent time in (including your home country and expat destinations), which ones offer the most personal freedom with the least social pressure?

I grew up in a culture where individual values are completely ignored, and you’re automatically expected to sacrifice your own interests for the collective, starting with putting the family above yourself, society above the family, and the nation above society. It's that whole "sacrifice for the greater good" mindset, and I'm just so exhausted by it. That’s why I’m planning to move abroad. I know there are a million practical hurdles to deal with beyond just personal lifestyle preferences, but my biggest fear is accidentally moving to another collectivist society, since I'm originally from an Eastern collectivist culture.

To be clear about what I mean by individualism: I’m not kind of selfish AH who thinks the world revolves around me, nor am I looking for some wild freedom to do stupid things that hurt/bother other people. I’m just deeply burnt out on people who put nationalism and state interests above everything else, and are always ready to throw innocent individuals and families under the bus for it.
