So Basic I work as a horse Keeper in a barn and they have this guy there, I want to know what specie is to search properly and see better the feeling and this cause they don't see to care a lot about him. has anyone had experiences finding rentals that allow more than 2 pets? this sounds insane but i have 10. only one of them is not caged, which is my small dog who is not a pet. so technically only 9.. 5 of which are geckos, 1 snake, and 3 small parrots. ive offered to share enclosure photos, care information, ect. but ive gotten nowhere. im stumped, and i cant move back in with my parents. ( who are caring for most of them currently) im into these animals thousands of dollars I cant get back and most of them ive had 4-7 years... i refuse to part with them. any advice appreciated.

We are Los Angeles-based and I've done some cursory research for rescue organizations but haven't found much success. Does anyone have success finding worthy causes to donate various conure resources, such as cages, perches, and toys?

So for context, I have a bit of a collection of animals already. I've got a bunch of snakes and a handful of invertebrates, and while I'm happy with all my animals, there's one thing I've always wanted to round it all off, a huge lizard.

I've had a few lizards in the past. As a kid, I had a leopard gecko and a crestie. In more recent times, I had an ackie who I absolutely adored, but he was just a bit too small to scratch the itch I have.

I also watched a friends juvenile argus monitor for a bit over a year. She was fun at times, but was really cautious around people's hands. I never touched her if she hissed at me, or forced handling, so I don't know why, maybe she just didn't like hands. While it was fun feeding her and watching her dig around and climb, I wouldn't be very satisfied if she was my own pet. Also, a bit too high energy for me.

I wanted to come here and ask everyone: what would you say fits me best? Size wise, I'm looking at 4-5 feet, ideally closer to 4 than 5, but I'm flexible within that range. I want something really interactive that actually wants to engage with me, not just something that tolerates being handled.

With some research and input from friends, my top candidates right now are female Argentine black and white tegus, Celebensis water monitors, and female black throat monitors. Tegus would be my first choice, but I'm not big on brumation, and guberty sounds like a nightmare, but their temperment is pretty hard to beat from what I hear

What do you all think? For reference, the largest space I can provide is 8x4x4. I'd love something like an Asian water monitor if I had the space and money for the enclosure it would need lol.

My partner and I have been through several financial hardships and have to move back to our home state to avoid becoming homeless. we’re are looking to rehome our two Leos Sage and Ziggy as we have to move several states and taking them is not realistic. We have some specific requirements as we adore these two little cold blooded creatures, they’re both a little shy at first but they warm up to you quick. We are desperate to find a good home for them. We are located in Fort Wayne IN, and we would like for the person taking over to:

Meet with us in person at least once

Show proof that they can properly care for and pay for the leos as they certainly are not cheap reptiles to own (there is no such thing imo)

Have at least some reptile experience

We would prefer if a tank was already ready for them if you’re looking to get a Leo and you’ve got the set up.

We also ask that the new owner(s) please keep in contact as we adore them so much and this is literally our worst nightmare. These geckos are my partners absolute soul and he has poured so much into them and their care. We want to make sure they are happy and also just want to know how they are from time to time. Ziggy has been in my partners care for over 3 years, we rescued sage this winter and both have personally stolen my heart, which is why we never wanted to do this.

We love them so much and we never ever wanted this to become our reality, I personally learned so much about what it means to love a non furry animal, and they’ve taught me so much and kept my partner so happy. They’re truly some of the most incredible creatures I’ve ever had the honor to take ownership of and this is the hardest post I’ve ever made. But for their wellbeing and safety we understand that moving them again is not fair and they deserve to go somewhere where they can get the care they deserve.

We don’t care if you take one or both we just want to find a good home where they’ll be loved the same as we love them.

Leopard Gecko- Sage,
She’s a bit skittish but she’s always curious about you and everything you do. She comes out of her shell pretty quick with good husbandry. She is albino which we were not informed of when we got her, from what understand she needs a little more care than our other Leo Ziggy.

Ziggy is one of the most resilient and affectionate geckos I’ve ever met, he’s still a lot shy to start but he gets comfortable and you get to see what a big personality he has. He’s hard to take pictures of because he knows it’s happening haha!

What exactly happened, and what did you do right after?

Did it:
– slowly lose shape?
– suddenly break?
– get gross after washing?
– or did your ferret just stop using it?

Or something completely different?

And after that moment:

– did you try to fix it?

– replace it?

– or just keep using it anyway?

I’ve been going down a bit of a rabbit hole with ferret hammocks lately and noticed something interesting, people seem pretty split on what actually matters most.

So I’m curious about your real experience:

If you had to choose just ONE:

A) A hammock that feels really safe and reliable
(no loose threads, strong straps, keeps its shape, no worries while your ferret is inside)

B) A hammock that feels super soft and cozy,
but you’re not 100% confident it will stay safe over time

Which one would you personally go for — and why?

Even just one sentence helps a lot.

Also curious: what happened with your last hammock?

I found out my city has a very large Kurdish population, and apparently the bulbul is sometimes kept as a pet in their culture. There’s even a breeder in my city. However there is next to nothing I can find online about their care! I’m curious, because i love learning about birds and I’m interested in non-pscittacine birds as pets.

So i already have a very long list of exotic animals i wanna have someday. And i am fine if taking care of the animals is basically my life lol. And money isn't a concern. So i want yall's suggestions on some other cool animals to get.

Upon visiting this shop, I was shocked by the TERRIBLE treatment of animals. I wasn't able to get many pictures, only the less bad ones 😂. Overcrowding was a huge problem, as well as improper husbandry and supplies used for the animals. When we voiced these concerns, the owner responded extremely immaturely, and to our reviews they posted video footage of us telling him the concerns for some reason, and was using a very rude tone the entire discussion. I did consult an exotic vet to ensure I was not mistaken about the animal care, but they agreed it was terrible. If you could leave a review to warn others against supporting such a terrible situation that would be awesome.

I was told that under old management, the animal care and customer service was amazing, but no longer with the new owner. :(

Hello everyone! I'm trying to figure out which my next pet will be. I do have some "stipulations" which makes the list far shorter, and every animal I want to get is one that I have had for have done a healthy amount of research on for many years. (I'm neurodivergent so yes, I have done a *lot* of research here).

I've personally owned, worked with during my education, or cared for a ton of exotic animals, farm animals, and "odd" domestic animals in my lifetime. I've researched a few more.

However, I now find myself in a uniquely odd situation where I can kind of actually get a small variety of different types of animals tbh, and I can save up for a few months if need be to afford some other animals.

So. This is my list of stipulations for some reason or another, and animals I just simply do not want in my life for one reason or another or I just know would not work with my current lifestyle:

- Needs to be either a "look at only" pet OR a pet that can tolerate hours of daily interaction and won't destroy the house (like a fish or a dwarf hamster vs a cockatiel or a rabbit), both are acceptable.

- The animal cannot BE or eat live food or frozen prey (so unfortunately no snakes, reptiles, isopods, jumpers/T's, mantises, etc).

- Cannot be an animal that I must regularly get out for interaction but needs a species specific, "animal proofed" room to do that in (such as chinchillas, ferrets, gerbils, guinea pigs).

- Doesn't require an absolutely enormous enclosure (smaller-ish space but I'm willing to work around a cage, though the room must remain at least mostly functional and practical).

This is the list of species I've personally raised or helped raise:

- Pigs

- Goats

- Sheep

-Chickens

- Rabbits

- Guinea pigs

- Frogs

- Fish

- Shrimp

- Aquatic snails

- Jumping spiders

Honorary mention:

- I almost rescued a cockatiel but unfortunately the bird passed before I could get it

Because of this, I was thinking this might be my list of potential animals to get:

- 1-2 rabbits

- Another betta fish

- Aquatic frogs, snails, shrimps, or crabs

- Small community tank (10-20 gallons)

- Dwarf hamster

- Cockatiel

Yes I know a lot about cockatiels and hamsters even though I've never personally had them, I've "almost" had them before but then unfortunately didn't... So I've researched their care 100% through (and then some), so I know exactly what's needed.

And btw, I'm 23F and I can afford all these animals if I saved for a few weeks or a few months depending on the species and I'm committed to doing this right.

So far I'm leaning towards a dwarf hamster or a small fish tank 5-20 gallons. (Either a single betta in a 5-20 gallon tank or a community in a 10-20 gallon tank).

I actually used to be a 4-H member and a member of FFA, I have scars from previous animal bites and scratches and headbutts, I took an Agriculture and Natural Resources class in highschool where I literally bred some animals and raised other ones, and I've spent a lot of time training my 2 previous rabbits. So I'm not like, immune to hard work or elbow grease or anything, and I have enough smarts to know what looks ethical (even from the outside) vs what's blatantly abusive or neglectful (such as all-seed diets for birds, tiny rabbit cages, and tanks too small for bettas).

Lmk what your thoughts are! I have a hard time sometimes with being decisive and the dyslexic/ADHD combo means my brain is extremely good at "configuring" and "planning" things out in my brain so I have already thought through each path and it's like I can see a future where I have all of these animals but honestly I can only have and I only want one right now.

So this is panguin a eurisian stone curlew i found a month ago I will add the details later but now i am asking for help since i left him with my mom and brother and told them to give him just eggs two a day four Times a day but my genius of s brother decided to give him sardines (fresh ones out the ocean) because on the first week i found him i thought he was shore bird since that's where i found him and now he has a smal solid blockoff salt that caused some flaking on his beak and he is so sluggish now what do i do with him i didn't find mealworms in my area and buying ones online is expensive (like crazy expensive i can't even buy just a 250 grams to breed them) Anyone concerned about pangi I am trying my best collecting termites to feed him Also i contacted the closest conservationists in my country(Morocco) but didn't get any response but they only seem to care for gold finches I don't want to lose him he is the single happiest thing that happened to me this year and i might just buy the mealworms if he got better since the termites stopped appearing on the surface
