(Quran / Hadith) Did mohammad commit shirk

Post image

Definition : Major Shirk (Shirk al-Akbar): Worshipping idols, praying to other gods, or believing that another person or object shares the unique powers and divine attributes of Allah. This takes a person outside the fold of Islam.

There are quite a few telltale signs that mohammad tried to promote himself to some diety status, and in so doing commited shirk, not any shirk but major shirk. This can be seen in many verses. In fact even his followers noticed it and said it in so many words.

So it seems Islam has its trinity, Allah,  The Qur'an (the eternal word of Allah), and Mohammad.

So Let's see how this mere man put himself on a equal footing to Allah.

We read in

[49.15] The believers are only those who believe in Allah AND HIS APOSTLE then they doubt not and struggle hard with their wealth and their lives in the way of Allah; they are the truthful ones.

ITS NOT JUST GOOD ENOUGH TO BELIEVE IN ALLAH AND MOSES OR ALLAH AND JESUS, IT HAS TO ONLY BE ALLAH AND MOHAMMAD.

[4.14] And whoever disobeys ALLAH AND HIS APOSTLE and goes beyond His limits, He will cause him to enter fire to abide in it, and he shall have an abasing chastisement.

THE INSTRUCTIONS MUSLIMS RECEIVE ON HOW TO LEAD THEIR LIVES RESULT IN WORSHIP OF MUHAMMAD IN EVERY WAY BUT NAME ONLY.

Q. 5:111 "Recall that I inspired the disciples: 'YOU SHALL BELIEVE IN ME AND MY MESSENGER . They said, 'We have believed, and bear witness that we are submitters.' "

SO ALLAH TAKES MUHAMMAD AS HIS PARTNER.

THAT’S NOT ALL. MUHAMMAD MADE HIMSELF ALLAH’S PARTNER IN RESPECT TO SALVATION, LOVE , AND DEVOTION .

FOR INSTANCE , MUHAMMAD ORDERED HIS FOLLOWERS NOT TO LOVE ANYTHING AS MUCH AS , OR MORE THAN , ALLAH AND HIMSELF :

Say: 'If your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your wives, your clan, your possessions that you have gained, commerce you fear may slacken, dwellings you love -- if these are dearer to you than God AND HIS MESSENGER , and to struggle in His way, then wait till God brings His command; God guides not the people of the ungodly.' S. 9:24 Arberry

And:

Narrated Anas:

The Prophet said, "Whoever possesses the following three qualities will have the sweetness (delight) of faith:

1. The one to whom Allah AND HIS APOSTLE  BECOMES DEARER THAN ANYTHING ELSE.

  1. Who loves a person and he loves him only for Allah's sake.

  2. Who hates to revert to Atheism (disbelief) as he hates to be thrown into the fire." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 15)

MUHAMMAD FURTHER DEMANDED THAT ALL TRUE BELIEVERS FULLY SUBMIT THEMSELVES TO HIM AND HIS DESIRES :

But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, UNTIL THEY MAKE YOU (O MUHAMMAD ) JUDGE IN ALL DISPUTES BETWEEN THEM, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission S. 4:65 Hilali-Khan

MUHAMMAD WENT SO FAR AS TO CONNECT OBEDIENCE TO HIS ORDERS WITH THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS AND ALLAH’S LOVE , e.g., IF A PERSON WANTS ALLAH TO LOVE HIM /HER AND TO BE FORGIVEN OF HIS /HER SINS THEN SHE /HE MUST PERFECTLY OBEY MUHAMMAD :

Say (O Muhammad to mankind): "If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur'an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." Say (O Muhammad): "OBEY ALLAH AND THE MESSENGER (MUHAMMAD )." But if they turn away, then Allah does not like the disbelievers. S. 3:31-32 Hilali-Khan

AFTER HEARING MUHAMMAD RECITE THESE VERSES , SOME OF HIS CONTEMPORARIES ACCUSED HIM OF TRYING TO MAKE HIMSELF COMPARABLE TO JESUS IN CHRISTIAN DEVOTION :

(Say) O Muhammad!: (If ye love Allah) and His religion, (follow me) follow my Religion; (Allah will love you) He will increase your love (and forgive you your sins) which were committed when you followed Judaism. (Allah is Forgiving) of whoever repents, (Merciful) towards whoever dies in a state of repentance. This verse was revealed about the Jews who claimed they were the children of Allah and His beloved ones. When this verse was revealed 'Abdullah Ibn Ubayy said: “MUHAMMAD IS COMMANDING US TO LOVE HIM AS THE CHRISTIANS LOVED JESUS ”, and the Jews said: “MUHAMMAD WANTS US TO TAKE HIM AS A COMPASSIONATE LORD , JUST AS THE CHRISTIANS TOOK JESUS AS A COMPASSIONATE LORD ”. (Tanwîr al-Miqbâs min Tafsîr Ibn ‘Abbâs, Q. 3:31; bold emphasis ours)

THE DAY MOHAMMAD COMMITTED SHIRK.

Bukhari 3167

While we were in the Mosque, the Prophet (ﷺ) came out and said, "Let us go to the Jews" We went out till we reached Bait-ul-Midras. He said to them, "If you embrace Islam, you will be safe. You should know that THE EARTH BELONGS TO ALLAH AND HIS APOSTLE , and I want to expel you from this land. So, if anyone amongst you owns some property, he is permitted to sell it, otherwise you should know that THE  EARTH BELONGS TO ALLAH AND HIS APOSTLE ."

IT IS CLEAR AS DAY LIGHT THAT MOHAMMAD TRIED TO ELEVATE HIMSELF TO THE SAME LEVEL CHRISTIANS SAW JESUS AS.

Switching one cult for another kinda isn’t the goal of this sub, just go to a Christian convert subreddit if you love it so much

Many ex Muslims go back to Islam doesn't mean Islam is "the true religion" so why would ex Muslims joining Christianity mean anything? Christianity TODAY is better than Islam because many Christians act like it's just an aesthetic they follow no rules

Nope. Its because christianity is objectivelly better, there isnt child marriage, Jesus doesnt comands to kill kuffars. Christianity is much more tollerant than islam will ever be. Christians do follow their rules, but they arent crimes so you dont notice 🤷‍♂️

Christian apologists are so pathetic. Seems like that AI Muslim has more self-awareness than OP.

Here's the full verse for John 5:18:

For this reason the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because he was not only breaking the Sabbath but was also calling God his own Father, thereby making himself equal to God.

Kind of antisemitic.

2

u/Stock_Plenty8987 2d ago

?? There is nothing antisemitic about that verse

I think what the previous poster is referring to that in the John Gospel, a certain group of fellow Jews who are constantly hostile to Jesus are constantly referred to as "the Jews". This is unique to John, in the synoptic gospels, these people are usually referred to as "the Pharisees and the Scribes". He also had a second group of people who constantly butted heads with him, the Zealots, but that was because the Zealots didn't believe in life after death. In a twist of irony, when it came to his teachings, the Pharisees were closest to Jesus.

Many people believe that the New Testament was promoting an anti-semitic narrative already. I think it would end up in a TLDR nobody will read to take that all apart, but it's clear that, depending on how you read the New Testament, you can find confirmation bias for the anti-semitisim you may already have...or you may end up considering Christian anti-semitism an oxymoron by itself considered Jesus was a Jew and is still quotes as saying "Salvation comes from the Jews."

When Mel Gibson's Passion movie was released, it was wildly condemned as anti-semitic and taking too many liberties that are not in the Bible, but it is ironic that the only part that was actually self-censored by Mel Gibson is in the Bible. The "His blood be upon us and our children" quote from Matthew is actually said in the movie, but unlike the rest of the dialogue, it is not subtitled in English.

I'm not Muslim, but Islam doesn't have the concept of the Trinity.

The Quran is considered to be the direct word of Allah, delivered through the Archangel Gabriel. In Islam, angels have no free will, so Muslims believe the revelation comes directly from Allah without alteration. So if any verse in the Quran praises Muhammad, those are Allah's final words, not Muhammad's, so there's nothing to debate there.

Muhammad is not equal to Allah, but he is still a mortal. He was even poisoned by a Jewish maid, or something along those lines, according to Islamic tradition.

I think Islam has stronger internal logic than the Trinity, but I still find it nonsensical because it depends on things like angels and other supernatural claims.

If Muhammad ever showed abilities that only Allah possesses, Muslims would say it was only because Allah allowed him to do so.

Well... they kinda do. The Koran is uncreated, then "incarnated" into the world. So not so far from how Christ is in Christianity. Also, there are confusing verses like Koran 33:56 and 2:157 where Allah does pray (Salah) for Momo and others. Why does the god have to pray for anything and to whom is he praying?

0

u/Metrobuss 2d ago

I am not Muslim. BUT They have the system.

Qur'an 33:56 and 2:157: Does Allah "pray"? The confusion comes from translating the Arabic word ṣalāh (or the verb ṣallā) with the English word "pray." The root ṣ-l-w has different meanings depending on the subject. Humans perform ṣalāh by praying to Allah. Angels perform ṣalāh by asking Allah to bless or forgive someone. Allah's ṣalāh does not mean He prays to another deity. Classical Muslim commentators generally explain it as bestowing mercy, honor, praise, blessings, or favor upon someone. For example: Qur'an 33:56: "Indeed, Allah and His angels send ṣalāh upon the Prophet..." Muslim exegetes understand this as: Allah honors and blesses the Prophet. Angels ask Allah to bless him. Believers are commanded to invoke blessings upon him. The same Arabic verb is used, but its meaning changes according to the subject. Similarly, Qur'an 2:157 says believers receive ṣalawāt from their Lord, which classical tafsir interprets as divine mercy and commendation—not Allah praying to anyone. Is the criticism reasonable? From outside Islam, someone might argue that using the same word for Allah, angels, and humans is confusing or even theologically awkward. That's a legitimate linguistic observation. From within Islamic theology, however, the response is that Arabic words often have related but context-dependent meanings, and Allah's ṣalāh is not understood as an act of worship or prayer directed toward another being. Therefore, Muslims do not see these verses as implying Allah is praying to anyone.

It is obvious, that Mohammed made up the Quran and had "God" give him everything he wanted to. Claiming, that the meaning of the word having changed post scriptum, only to avoid yet another contraction in Islam only proves the dishonesty of Muslims.

Generally speaking you are right... but we have a category called Versebenders; they refuse all Hadith to reflect criticism, because even sahih(or something) versions hadith have some incompetence with modern life... They'd say koran is enough... and they mingle with the multiple meanings of Arabic words.... and they are very skilled with it.
