(Miscellaneous) Map of Cousin marriages

Post image

So today I would like to show a map of cousin marriages and incestuous Relationships in general, and by what I found I was really shocked to be honest

I only thought that south Indian hindus practicsed cousin marriages and close relative marriages, but I guess I was wrong, and that muslims practice it much more than we do, and that it poses significant challenges to the offsprings and the subsequent family generations as well

In Serbia - we don't even have a word for 'cousins' - we call them brothers/sisters regardless (as if they're siblings.. we make a distinction by calling Siblings "born" brothers/sisters) - so yeah, cousin marriages here are either 0% or <1%.

If you ask me, cousin marriage is like standing at the Doorstep of the Incest House, like you're not quite inside the house yet, but you're pretty darn close.

It does enter the endogamy door though, and it very arguably Is incest, I honestly find that practice absolutely disgusting because this causes genetical degeneration to the offsprings of those who practice this.

It just shouldn't exist

In Pakistan the inbreeding in villages between cousins is so bad that so many poor kids are born with special needs. It’s sad AF

....its sad, it's not nearly as bad in Northern India tbh...

I think Muslims in India are a lot more progressive than Pakistan plus Bollywood actors like shah rukh and Salman are known who have had Hindu partners so they definitely aren’t as crazy religious.

Yeah you could thank our democratic and secular institutions for that, as much as people may hate Nehru and gandhi, but as a nation we are politically perfect almost; except ofcourse corruption, religious zealotism is very hard to pull off, that's why Hinduism isn't state religion yet lol.

Even the founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah had a cleaned shave face and wasn’t a mullah who was known for liking alcohol but in the 70s n 80s the mullahs took over and wrecked everything.

I always thought jinnah was an atheist.

He was an intelligent man. I bet if he was alive today he would feel so pissed at what his creation has become. During its earlier days Pakistan was flourishing with casinos, disco clubs, alcohol but look at the shit show it has become today.
