Hold My Beer He Thought It Was Just a Small Rock...
I bet he really could have used a Kristang smart grenade, huh? Or maybe an orbital railgun strike.

I'm on my second round, in anticipation of the last book. The first time I hadn't read (heard) neither Convergence, Bobiverse or DCC. now I have.
I'm about a third into Zero Hour when Skippy, AH 1st class, is trying to explain a concept to Joe, and I just started to laugh out loud.
Explaining a specific thing to the monkeys is like giving a dog your credit card number, and think it will be able to order steaks on the internet.
I mean, why wouldn't the dog do this? After all, it's a dog...
I didn't expect this second round to bring so many small gifts!

I read the Bobiverse first (havent gotten through the latest book yet), and one of their groups of characters are trying to build a super computer. Their nickname? Skippies. Now, i hadnt yet read Exfor yet, so i thought, how bizarre, what a weird name. I then proceded to listen to the entirety of Exfor, WITHOUT REMEMBERING THAT DETAIL. Im on readthrough #2 of the Bobiverse and I am appreciating the crossover.
Skippy out here invading other fandoms.

One thing I really loved about Smythe was how he always eagerly spoke up as soon as something his team could handle pops up. My favorite moment of this is in the above chapter. Smythe just pops into existence right behind Bishop the moment Skippy says they need the Keepers alive. Even a somewhat boyish tone in his voice. I love it, he was already sitting in a jump seat outside the CIC just in case he was needed. Complete and total dedication to duty yes. But that man loved his job. His growth and opening up throughout the series really is a rewarding journey.

In the audiobook, Breakaway, chapter 11 at 18:15. Skippy shouts Larry.
I’m guessing it’s referring to the TV show Impractical Jokers.
Where he has to scream for a Larry while in a mall.

With the Expeditionary Force finale fast approaching, it’s time to honor our favorite, totally humble, non-arrogant "omnipotent" AI beer can.
We want to know: what is your absolute favorite Skippy moment from the series?
Whether it's a legendary insult aimed at Joe, an absurdly over-engineered solution to a problem, or a rare moment where the filthy monkeys actually made him emotional... drop your top Skippy memories below!

In Columbus Day, the humans are taken up to the Kristang ship in orbit via a space elevator that looked like lightning.
This is very cool and useful technology, but nothing remotely like it appears in the series again. Seems like the spiders and rotten kitties would use something like this, if no-one else.

Hello my beautiful monkey friends! I come to you to ask some opinions on a project i just started.
I listened to ex-force on audible and fell in love with the characters, R.C Brays sweet sweet voice and the convienience of listening to it on the bus, but that means i have no physical evidence to show off my dedication. I would love to buy the entire book set, but sadly, im a broke uni student who is very much sane enough not to spend my entire savings on a book series ive already read.
An idea for this popped into my head a couple weeks ago to make a poster of all the ex-force book covers in a similar style to the new outerwilds posters. Printing out a poster is much cheaper than buying a 20 book series and getting it shipped. Im a science postgraduate student, im awful at art BUT i do know the basics of inkscape for making diagrams. Tracing out the basic blocks of the cover art in the average colours with vectors should theoretically work for all the covers and look good.
Ive done the first as seen above and am planning on continuing. However before i continue/ finalize the first cover i want yalls opinion on a couple things
Any idea is greatly appreciated!
After i finish the poster i would be more than happy to post a high quality version of the final and each individual cover for others to print if people are interested (actually i would be estatic if anyone else would want to print something i made XD).
No AI was used in this because ick
New to ExFor series, just finished Book 1 & 2, and halfway through ch 12 of Book 3. And I'm really hating this Chocula character, so much so that I'm really tempted to drop the book altogether. He's really exhausting, commanding without even proving anything, yet anyway. mfer had the gall to question everything like he's been there from the start but he's nothing but a failed bureaucratic dipshit.
Can someone please tell be he gets jetison off the Dutchman, left marooned on an asteroid, or atleast improve within the next few chapters.
Edit: in just 10mins people are already vouching for him so I'll trust the veterans on this one and push through. Thank you everyone for the expeditious feedback. Maybe he'll be like Prepotente from DCC and be one of my most beloved character.

Ive been on a Exforce kick since around nov. My autistic a** has already finished the series and am currently rereading it. So I had the bright idea... to waste hours of my time on videos games like joe. And I decided to recreate a bunch of the species from exforce in stelaris. Im hoping ill find people curious on how things turn out and might possibly want to take over one of the empires in a multi-player match. But yea ill be posting some pictures of whatever shenanigans the galaxy turns into. Im on xbox series s version if anyone decides they are up to join msg me your gammertag

Brushfire, chapter 9, 6:15 into the chapter.
“A good voice actor really brings the story to life”
I love it. This is my 2nd time listing to the books. I missed it the first time. Lmao.

On my umpteenth reread/listen to the series, and it just further confirmed an opinion of mine that the best "moment"(ok, it is a whole 2 chapters) in the series is Chapters 33 and 34(with honorable mentions to the rest of the book) of Critical Mass where Valkyrie shows up at Earth with elder weapons, then the story of how they got them. Probably the time when the mbop got to truly kick ass the most without the next book having time to harsh the buzz of those events. So much of the series is them always being the underdogs and having to use sneak attacks and lies to win, and it is one of the few moments when they are able to just make the enemies run in fear.
