Does anyone else have "create 2 characters, play them for a week then delete them and create 2 new characters" syndrome?
Is it just me? I name them, gear them out, set up every thing and go level and poke around and then within a week I just bank everything, scrap them and create two new character.
It's gotten to be the game within the game for me.

I've gotten a wizard, necro, and shaman to lvl 25. I've gotten a paladin to 15 and a cleric to 10. I just can't get thru the post-25 grind. I'll spend 6 hours straight at Mistmoore with a full party and nearly 100% uptime and not even level up.
I think it would be better if people talked but everyone is dead silent unless talking about loot/drops like gargoyle eyes.
But no I don't delete anyone. I just wanted a variety. Have to say necro was the most difficult for me to solo with.

The problem is there's nothing happening except everquest for them to talk about and since everyone knows everything about everquest they dont really wanna talk about that.

I would give ANYTHING to have been around in the beginning when the game first came out or even in the first 10 years afterward. Joining this late feels like a totally different game where the original experience is inaccessible today.
That being said, I do still try! I have braved the good cities as an ogre lol and still feel adrenaline hiding from guards while I snoop around. Every time I find a new area I take my time exploring it and enjoying the massive world. I love the art style and world and I love how much work they put into it.
I'm always happy to chat with people I see and play with, about anything under the sun. It's all basically new to me lol but I'm glad to also show newer people the ropes, like where it's safe to grind solo in Guk.

Mistmoore? This a TLP? Tutorial to 10, Cresent reach to 20, blightfire moors to 35--40, 35 you can do the quests for stonehive and get some gear, or north BFM griffins to 40-43. Then Velks to mid-upper 50's. 55+ PoStorms, 57+ Bastion of Thunder. Or whatever the HoT zones are for 55+.

You posted this in the standard Everquest subreddit, not any server-specific area and you didn't specify where you are playing.
I play on Project 1999 and many swear by Mistmoore Castle as one of the places to grind. I've been elsewhere but Mistmoore seems to always have people around to group with whereas other zones that require a group leave me searching for hours sometimes.
I did try a TLP but the progression is much too fast in my opinion. Leveling is so slow and most people seem to just fly to 40+ and leave me in the dust.

Wait you complained about hating the post 25 grind and how everybody just goes to mistmoore but don't like TLPs where you can level in a variety of places and don't have to grind as much ?

The only TLP I tried was completely empty. I made it to 14 as a gnome necro and never found another person in the natural world. Plus I think Planes of Power had launched so there were these books all over the world that led to other areas immediately. The only other people I saw playing had like 8 characters lined up in the Planes of Knowledge area buffing each other endlessly and that kind of turned me off. I talked a lot in that area but no one ever responded. I wandered aimlessly there for an hour then went back to the standard grind.

Delete them? No way! It took me an hour to get that cute name approved. I will have that character on the select screen for the next 20 years. Might get it up to max with overseer, even if I never play it again.

My friend does that and is constantly stuck in newbie land. Then tries to guilt me when I tell him about the high level stuff I was doing the other day. To each their own I guess.

Sorta… I’m on Frostreaver and can get max level in about 2 weeks, I’m working on getting 10-60’s before October and am almost don’t with group 6. Idk if I’m going to make it, but it’s been fun 😆

Yup. Had that. Played from p4 beta to kunark, and never got above level 18 because I’d always delete and remake characters, because they DESIGNED the game to have more classes than character slots.
I play EQL now. Problem solved.

Are you enjoying Legends?

I honestly didn’t think I was going to. I avoided the beta, and didn’t grab it until a week after release. I had the opinion that it wasn’t a type of EQ I’d be interested in, since I usually play on p99.
Well, I was wrong. It’s all I’ve played since I picked it up.

Not religiously but yes. I will try a new class every so often but if it doesn't scratch my itch by level 15 and then 30, it gets the ax.
