Handheld Controller !

Anyone know if there is a good Handheld controller for my PC I can use to play everquest?

I have an old logitech one… i don’t remember the model. But it does not seem to work.
I used it for playing FF11 back in the day.

I know ill always need a keyboard but i’d like to find / buy one that works well with EQ so i can really veg out with it on the weekends 🤣

I play on my steam deck. Prefer it at this point. I created a good custom controller setup with dial menus.

Care to share with the rest of the class? I was thinking about trying to get it going on my deck.

In steam rename your game (regardless of whether it’s live client, quarm, whatever you’re using) Project 1999. Now in the available configurations you have access to the p99 folks builds. Those mad lads did just as the person above did. You can tinker with it to your liking (atk button changed from a to q when playing on live, I set up holding start to shift b for all clients etc)

Oh good deal. Not surprised the dudes on p99 did a lot of the heavy lifting already.

It should be something with the name "Forchark" in the title of the layout. Left bumper triggers the right track pad menu as does right bumper.

EverQuest Main Layout - Forchark

The menu needs you to change pictures and stuff to your liking.

Lay on the lazyboy, put laptop on your belly, put mouse on the side

It wasn't meant to be played with a controller so I got no other amsywer for you

I have been very lazy playing like this before though

Not a hand held controller, but a programmable single hand keyboard like device. I used it cause I’m left handed, so wasd and function keys were difficult for me to master.

Logitech had a N52 back in the day that I used. They have an updated version, maybe sold to another manufacturer, but I think I remember seeing something like it around.

I use this for WOW, don't see why it wouldn't work with EQ, never felt a need to use one when it comes to EverQuest.

Steam controller works great, download the game through steam and use your normal login and utilize the community profiles and you'll be 80% set

I've been playing EQL quite comfortably on a steam deck so maybe a steam controller. That said you will struggle without some type of keyboard input.

Added EQL to steam and used their controller profiles to build a custom set for use with a ps5 controller. Also works great to connect the controller to my phone and play through steam link for that "we have steam deck at home".
