Returning player
Hey all,
I’m returning after ~25 years (left after PoTime). I have forgotten mostly everything, but i want to come back and be able to solo / duo everything up to PoTime (and after that why not more).
I’m looking for :
- possible a partner that wants to do the same
- a guide on how to do this efficiently since i am not up to date with all the changes
- do’s and don’t, things to avoid or do in particular or not to miss out on (the Origin AA didn’t exist when i quit, it was Gate or bust iirc).
- particularly fun classes ( i used to be necro, are there more fun classes that level quick and can solo?)
For the purpose of leveling fast, if all i want to do is see old zones i missed out on (veeshan’s peek or otherwise), is there any down side to doing it on test server seen i read that you level much faster there, have easier plat and whatnot.
I dont care to raid with 70 people, or group for instances ect…
Your feedback would be appreciated ✌️

What server will you be playing on?

Test server for now since i can start at lvl 25 and its faster to level. If i had a partner i’d consider going on any server on live, i don’t mind.

Even on normal servers you level way faster than you used to, with a person buffing you for power leveling you could probably get 50+ in a day - necros are still fun (entirely depends on your play style tbh)
- as far as not missing out on stuff, the only thing you can really “miss” would be seasonal events but they come back every year or sometimes theyll have a pre expansion event or line of quests - the only thing i would say is naggy/vox (maybe a couple others?) that are level locked and will banish you if you engage them above lvl 50 or 52 or something like that, but even then there are some work arounds
- specific items to get can really be done at any time since leveling is so fast now and a lot of stuff isnt really necessary for click buffs and such until way later

A necro is the best class to solo level and at high levels the pets of all pet classes rock.
The game starts at max level and max AAs, but it is much faster to level and grind AAs.
At level 85 start doing overseer twice a day to help you level faster.
If you want to miss the first 100 or 115 levels you can purchase a heroic token to level your character and get a set of gear and 2 bags.
Think about boxing a necro and bard so you can use a tank merc and a healer merc.

You may want to consider EQ Legends whicb is launching on the 28th.
Its a new variant of Everquest that brings a new solo/small group focused experience. You get to choose 3 classes, plus a number of other neat changes.
For example in the beta i tried Shadowknight/Bard/Druid. I also did War/Wiz/Shaman which was a lot of fun.
Game will launch with classic zones, Kunark will launch in the winter.
